Stil frame and Frame-by-Frame advance function

Remote control unit
Press either of these buttons.
During playback if either of STEP buttons (488,
8%) on
the remote control unit is pressed, the picture will be frozen.
At this point, the disc can be played one frame at a time
in either the forward or reverse direction by pressing one
of these buttons. The sound is muted during still frame or
frame advance operation.
To return to normal operation, press PLAY button (®),
@ Front panel's PLAY/STILL button (® /®4) is also used to
display the still frame.
Use frame advance to watch pictures one frame at a time.

To vary the playback direction or speed

During playback, the playback direction can be changed with
MULTI-SPEED
buttons.
1/4 the normal playback speed is
set automatically.
With + and — buttons, the playback speed can be changed
from
x3 to 1/90 the normal playback speed.
Sound is muted during Muiti-speed playback operation. To
return to normal playback operation, press PLAY button (>).
Press for reverse
playback.
Press for forward
playback.
@ The selected speed is displayed by pressing DISPLAY but-
ton on the remote control unit.

lf playback automatically switches to still frame dis-
play mode.
If a disc containing special signals called
''picture stop
codes" is played at x1, 1/2,'1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/30 or 1/90
speed, playback pauses automatically whenever the unit en-
counters a frame where a picture stop code is encoded, and
the still picture of that frame is displayed on the monitor
screen. To move from that position, press PLAY button (P)
or MULTI-SPEED
buttons (<<, B).
