Walker's   H D   P ower   E lite  
 
Hearing   E nhancement   &   P rotection  
Increases   H earing   u p   t o   9   t imes   b y   a mplifying   h igh   f requency   s ounds   w ith   5 0   d ecibels   o f   p ower.  
Protects   Hearing   using   a   Sound   Activation   Compression   (SAC)   circuit   combined   with   an   earplug  
helps   protect   hearing   from   loud   sounds   such   as   muzzle   blasts.   Noise   Reduction   Rating   (NRR)   of  
29dB   i s   a mong   t he   h ighest   i n   t he   i ndustry.  
Adjustable   Frequency   Tuning   (AFT)   focuses   on   specific   sound   frequencies   for   crystal-­‐clear

4   P rogram   S ettings:  
P1:     G eneral  
Program  one  is  for  use  in  everyday  situations  from  enhancing  a  speaker's  voice  when  you  are  
seated  in  the  last  row  of  a  church  or  auditorium  to  enhancing  the  sounds  of  nature  during  a  
leisurely   stroll   through   the   outdoors.   Use   program   one   to   protect   y our   hearing   while   cutting  
the   g rass,   u sing   p ower   t ools,   o r   t arget   s hooting.    
  P 2:     N ature  
Program   t wo   i s   a djusted   t o   f urther   e nhance   t he   h igh   f requency   s ounds   o f   n ature.   D istant   b irds  
will   s ound   l ike   t hey   a re   s itting   o n   y our   s houlder   a nd   y ou   w ill   b e   t he   f irst   t o   h ear   f aint   c alls   f rom  
game  like  elk  and  turkey.  Program  two  reacts  in  milliseconds  to  protect  you  hearing  from  the  
loud   r eport   o f   a   r ifle   o r   s hotgun.  
P3:   L oud   E vents  
Protect   y our   h earing   w hile   a ttending   l oud   e vents   l ike   r ock   c oncerts,   N ascar   r aces,   T ractor   p ulls,  
etc.

protecting   y our   h earing.   U nlike   s ound   p lugs   t hat   d istort   s ound,   P 3   p rovides   a   n atural   f ull   s ound  
experience.   The   strong   low-­‐end   response   of   P3   makes   it   ideal   for   enhancing   low   frequency  
game   s ounds   l ike   d eer   g runts.  
P4:   P ower   B oost  
Program  four  is  adjusted  to  provide  a  zoom  effect  as  it  instantly  increases  power  and  focuses  
on  high  frequency  sounds.  With  the  push  of  a  button  hear  the  faintest  game  sounds  at  great  
distances.  
Hearing   p rotection   i s   n ot   c ompromised   w ith   t he   i ncreased   p ower   p rovided   i n   P 4.   L oud   s ounds  
are   l imited   t o   s afe   l evels.  
Installing   t he   B attery  
Remove   s ticker   f rom   b attery.   T o   i nsert   b attery,   o pen   b attery   c ompartment   b y   p ulling   d own  
on   the   rim   of   the   compartment   door.   The   battery   is   held   in   place   by   a   small   lip   on   the  
bottom  of  the  compartment.  Place  the  battery  into  the  compartment  so  that  the  (+)  sign  
side  of  the  battery  is  facing  up;  when  the  battery  is  inserted  correctly,  compartment  door  
will   c lose   w ith   e ase.   A   # 13   M ercury   o r   Z inc   A ir   b attery   i s   r ecommended.  
With  the  unit  facing  this  direction,  the  "+"  sign  on  the  battery  goes  
opposite  the  lip  on  the  batter  compartment  door.  Also,  inside  the  unit  is  a  red  dot  identifying  the  
"+"   s ide.

Turning   t he   U nit   O n   /   O ff  
After   inserting   the   battery,   close   the   door   completely   to   turn   the   unit   on.   Turn   the   unit   off   by  
opening   t he   b attery   d oor   t o   t he   f irst   s top   ( click).  
Operating   t he   V olume   C ontrol  
Increase   the   volume   on   the   HD   Power   Elite   by   pressing   the   top   of   the   Volume   Control   toggle.  
Decrease  the  volume  by  pressing  the  bottom  of  the  Volume  Control  toggle.  NOTE:  The  HD  Power  
Elite   has   a   built-­‐in   "safety"   circuit,   which   limits   the   output   of   the   instrument   to   a   maximum   of  
115dB   S PL.  
• Once   the   battery   door   is   completely   shut,   you   will   hear   the   unit   turn   on   by   4   upscale   tones.  
(The   u nit   h as   1 9   l evels   o f   v olume.)  
• Each   time   you   press   the   Volume   Control   toggle   either   higher   or   lower,   you   will   hear   a   single  
tone.  
• Once   y ou've   r eached   e ither   t he   m aximum   o r   m inimum   l imit,   y ou   w ill   h ear   a   d ouble   t one.  
• Adjust   t he   v olume   t o   a   c omfortable   l istening   l evel.  
Adjusting   t he   P rogram   S ettings  
You   c an   c hange   t he   P rogram   s ettings   o n   t he   H D   P ower   E lite   t o   w hat   b est   f its   y our   e nvironment.  
• Once   t he   b attery   d oor   i s   c ompletely   s hut,   y ou   w ill   h ear   t he   u nit   t urn   o n   b y   4   u pscale   t ones.  
• Press   a nd   h old   d own   t he   V olume   C ontrol   t oggle   t o   s witch   b etween   s ettings.   Y ou   w ill   h ear   O NE  
beep  for  P1:  General,  TWO  beeps  for  P2:  Nature,  THREE  beeps  for  P3:  Loud  Events  and  FOUR  
beeps   f or   P 4:   P ower   B oost.  
• Once   y ou've   r eached   t he   s etting   y ou   d esire,   a djust   t he   v olume   t o   a   c omfortable   l istening   l evel.  
Operating   t he   A FT  
The  AFT  (Adjustable  Frequency  Tuning)  is  located  directly  above  the  
volume   c ontrol   t oggle   s witch.  
• Insert  the  enclosed  screwdriver  in  the  bottom  center  of  the  ADT  
pop-­‐up   h inged   d oor.  
• The   A FT   c ircuit   i s   a   s etscrew   m arked   N H   ( Normal   –   H igh).  
• With   t he   A FT   s et   s crew   i n   t he   7 :00   p osition   t he   e mphasis   i s   o n   t he  
lower   e nd   o f   t he   h igh   f requencies.   B y   t urning   t he   A FT   s et   s crew   t o  
the  right  (clockwise)  you  are  changing  the  emphasis  to  the  higher  
frequencies,   w ith   t he   m aximum   s etting   a t   t he   5 :00   p osition.  
To  find  the  best  setting  for  you,  turn  the   setscrew  to  the  desired  reception.  Different  conditions  
and   e nvironments   m ay   n eed   d ifferent   s ettings.    
Complications,   W hich   M ay   A rise  
If   conditions   such   as   irritation,   inflammation   and   pain   arise,   they   are   normally   due   to   pressure  
applied   from   the   earplug   on   a   particularly   sensitive   area   of   your   ear.   You   may   easily   be   able   to  
correct   t his   b y   t rimming   t he   e arplug   a t   t he   p oint   o f   i rritation.   F or   a n   a ctual   a llergic   r eaction,   o r   a ny  
other   u nusual   c onditions,   c onsult   y our   p hysician.  
Storing   t he   H D   P ower   E lite:   W hen   t he   u nit   w on't   b e   u sed   f or   a n   e xtended   p eriod   o f   t ime,   r emove  
the   b attery   a nd   p lace   t he   u nit   i n   i ts   c arrying   c ase   f or   s torage   i n   a   c ool,   d ry   l ocation.  
Batteries   (Avg.   Life   360   Hrs):   After   extended   use   of   your   battery,   the   unit   sound   volume   will  
rapidly   get   weaker,   and   may   become   noisy   and   ineffective   in   operation.   This   indicates   that   the  
battery  should  be  replaced.  Always  remove  the  battery  if  your  unit  is  not  going  to  be  used  for  a  
period   o f   d ays.  
If   Y our   E lite   H D   P ower   W histles:   W histling/squealing   m ay   s ometimes   o ccur   a s   y ou   c up   y our   h and  
over   your   ear   and  adjust   the   volume   control.   This   action   directs   sound   leaking   from   the  earplug  
into   t he   m icrophone,   r esulting   i n   a   w histle.   T his   s hould   d isappear   w hen   y ou   t ake   y our   h and   a way.  
If   n ot,   c heck   t o   m ake   s ure   t he   e arplug   i s   i nserted   p roperly.
