2 enables
your
Portable
Computer
to
be connected
to
a telephone
that
does not allow
direct
connection (such
as a
phone
in
a telephone
booth
or hotel
room).
When
using or handling the Acoustic
Coupler
2,
keep
the
following points in
mind:
• Avoid
excessive
strain
on
the
coupler
cable.
Place the coupler
units as close to the telephone as
possible.
Do
not tug
on
the cable.
•
If
you
are
not using the acoustic
modem, make
sure the
DIN
connector
is
disconnected
from
the
computer.
•
Do
not use
the
Acoustic
Coupler
2 with telephones other than
rotary-dial
or
pushbutton
types with
standard or European-style handsets.
• While
data
is
being
received or transmitted
through
the
coupler
units,
do not touch
the
coupler
units
or subject the
cups
to significant
vibration
and
noise.
This helps prevent data
error.
The same
precautions should be observed with the
desk or
table
upon
which* the
coupler
units are placed.
• The
condition of the
telephone
line
can disturb the transmission
through
the
Acoustic
Coupler
2.
If
the
line
disturbance breaks the
modem
connection,
call
again.
