The stainless steel pipe used in the Maxen Forbury 550 Flue Kit is warranted for five years from date of purchase to the initial
purchaser, provided these installation instructions and the manufacturer's instructions on how to operate the appliance are met.
1)
The chimney must be swept.
2)
Check for cracks and overall condition. If repairs are necessary, they must be carried out by a suitably qualified Technician.
3)
Ensure the Insert heater has been installed into the masonry cavity as per the manufacturer's instructions.
4)
By looking down the chimney (lights may be required) check that the heater flue outlet is in line with the chimney. If not,
an offset or bends will be required. The Flue Pipes should be centred and vertical.
5)
As per Diagram B, the Flue height is determined by a combination of the Heater Manufacturer's Instructions, height and
location of the roof and possible nearby structures. An experienced Installation Technician will also be able to set the
correct height for the Flue Kit.
6)
Depending on safety requirements, either install the 150mm Stainless Steel Flue Pipes one length at a time, or lower
the pre-sealed and riveted Flue Pipes as one into the chimney as required with the crimped end down.
7)
Ensure all joints have been sealed with hi-temp sealant, and have at least 3 Stainless steel, or 3 Monel steel rivets.
8)
Drill and secure the Flue Pipe into the flue spigot using hi-temp sealant and a S/S self-tapping screw.
9)
Secure the Chimney Flashing Plate and / or 250mm Outer Casing to the chimney (crimped end up) with suitable
fasteners and weather seal to the chimney top with mortar and / or silicone.
10) Check the Flue Pipe extends above the chimney and / or the 250mm Outer Liner by 145mm. Add sufficient 150mm
Stainless Steel Flue Pipe, or trim the 250m Outer Liner to obtain this measurement.
11) Fix the top Flue Spacer Bracket (using the fasteners supplied) to the 150mm Stainless Steel Flue Pipe making sure the
lugs (pointing down) are a snug fit inside the 250mm Outer Liner.
12) Fit the Apron Cover over the 150mm Flue Pipe and firmly push onto the top Flue Spacer Bracket.
13) Fit the Anti-Down Draught Cowl but do not secure, as it will need to be removed for flue cleaning. Deform or press the
stub of the Cowl into an oval to ensure a tight friction fit.
14) Leave all Installation & Operating Instructions with the owner.
Any variation from these Installation Instructions or any doubts about them must be checked against the
requirements of AS/NZS 2918:2001
