FILTER CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

This filter includes a Cleaning Indicator for easy monitoring. GREEN indicates that the device is
operating properly, while RED indicates a decline in performance. We recommend using the
self-cleaning mode (see below) when the indicator is RED.
Self-cleaning mode . To use this feature, unplug the pump and switch the filter to "Cleaning" mode

(Diagram#3). Connect a separate tube to the first output (Diagram #4), then plug the pump in to
resume circulation. Back-flush the dirty water to the desired location or container. You can monitor the
process by observing the Cleaning indicator. The process is complete when there are improvements in
the clarity of the water and the indicator turns GREEN. Now unplug the pump, remove the extra tube,
switch the filter back to "Working" mode and plug the pump in to resume normal operation. Note: the
self-cleaning process will remove water from the pond, replace as needed.
If the Self-cleaning process does not yield the desired effect, the
filter can be opened for Manual cleaning .

rinse the foam filter pads with clean water outside of the pond.
Filter pads that are hard to clean should be replaced.

When reassembling the device, ensure the seal is properly
positioned for a watertight seal (See Diagram # 5). Significant
leaking can occur if it is missing or improperly installed.
Foam filters should be replaced seasonally and are available
through our website. Biological media should not be replaced if
you are keeping a balanced pond however it should not be left dry or stagnant for long periods of
time as this can affect the bio-media's performance. We recommend Microbe-Lift brand products
to "charge up" the Filters' biological components with the beneficial bacteria necessary to
convert waste and pollutants into healthy by-products that further support a balanced pond.

LIMITED WARRANTY

This item is warranted to the original user against defective materials and workmanship for
a period of 12 months. Warranty does not cover replaceable filter materials such as foam
or bio media. Our limited warranty does not cover any costs associated with the installation
or removal of products subject to warranty claims or the cost of return of the item. The
warranty will commence from the date of purchase. Replacement liability is limited to any
part or parts of the unit which have failed due to defective material or workmanship. Proof of
purchase is required for all claims against the limited warranty. This warranty does not
extend to damage of the product or part resulting from accident, misuse, alteration, neglect,
abuse, improper installation or normal wear and tear to the product(s). This limited warranty
extends only to the original user of the product.

This Filter is designed for use outside of a pond, and can be partially buried for
discreet use.
Please be advised that ANY filtration system is intended to be a part of a balanced pond
environment, and is not intended to cure algae or other pond problems on its own.
This guide outlines the methods we recommend when using the Filter with our
Pond Building Series™ Pumps (sold separately) however this item can be used with
most pumps with a flow rate of up to 1500 gallons per hour (gph).
Diagram #1 above will assist in ordering replacement filter parts, as well as help you
identify the components required to achieve the filtration applications described below.
