ADJUSTMENTS
3-1. MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENTS
PRECAUTION
Clean the following parts with a denatured-
alcohol-moistened swab:
record/playback head
pinch roller
erase head
rubber belts
— Playback Mode
Use type CQ-102A cassette torque meter.
Demagnetize the record/playback head with
a head
demagnetizer.
(Do not bring the
head demagnetizer
close to the erase head.)
Do not use a magnetized screwdriver for the
supply reel spindle
adjustments.
After
the
adjustments,
apply a
suitable
locking compound to the parts adjusted.

The adjustments should be performed with
the rated power supply voltage unless other-
wise noted.
Change the hooking
position.

Tape Path Adjustment
— Playback Mode
1.
Make an adjustment cassette as shown below.
Specification:
2.5—3.5 g-cm
(0.035—0.048 oz-inch)

Cut out hatched
tape cassette
portions.
2.
In playback
mode
and
viewing
from
the
front, adjust the head heights to eliminate
tape curl and tape twist at arrowed portions.
