Battery replacement
The new battery must have the sam e specifi-
cations and dimensions as the original equip-
ment battery.

tem . To make sure the additional e lectrica l en -
e rgy is available once again after you have
changed t he battery, we recommend that you
install batteries of the same type and man u-
facture only (the same as those installed at
the time your vehicle was delivered). Specifi-
cations a re listed on the battery hous ing. Your
author ized Audi dealer must code the battery
in the energy management
system to enable
you to use the ene rgy man agement func t ions
correctly aft er rep lac ing t he batt ery.
If it is not poss ible to use a battery of this
type, the new battery must have the same ca-
pacity, voltage (12 -volts), ampe rage, con-
st ruc t ion and pl ug sea ling.
W hen insta lling the battery, make sure the ig-
nition and all e lectr ica l cons umers a re turned
off.

For the sake of the environment
Because of the probl em of proper d isposa l
of a batte ry, we recommend your autho r-
ized Audi dealer change t he batt e ry for
you. Bat t er ies co nt ain s ulfuric ac id a nd
lead and m ust always be dis posed of prop -
erly in complia nce with all environmental
reg ulations. Disposin g of vehicle batteries
improper ly is very dangerous to the envi-
ronment.
