I'm trying to figure out temp setting for this freezer. It's numbered 1-7. I'm not sure where dial is supposed to be pointing. If it looks like a clock, where should the temp be pointed, at the 12 or the 3, or the 6? It's too cold in there and I'm not sure what temp it should be set at, and where should that number be pointing (think of clock, 12 is at the top, 3 would be pointing to the 3 o'clock position, or should the temp number be pointing towards 6 o'clock? I'd really appreciate your help with this. Thanks so much.

For the WC Wood MU07W freezer with a temperature control dial numbered 1 to 7, the recommended setting is typically around "4." This provides a balanced temperature for safe food storage without over-freezing or excessive energy use. Setting "1" is the warmest, and "7" is the coldest. Adjust slightly higher or lower depending on the actual internal temperature and storage needs. Use a thermometer to ensure the freezer stays at or below 0°F (-18°C).

@Mr. Anderson Should the 4 be pointing at (think of a clock) the top (12 oclock) or should the 4 be pointing at 3 o'clock, or should it be pointed at 6 o'clock?

The context does not explicitly state whether the WC Wood MU07W is a frost-free freezer. However, it mentions possible causes for excessive frost inside the freezer, such as a bad defrost heater or a faulty defrost bi-metal thermostat. This suggests that the freezer has a defrost system, which is typically found in frost-free models. Therefore, it is likely that the WC Wood MU07W is a frost-free freezer.
