Safety features of your vehicle
僅 Do not use any accessory seat covers.
僅 Use of seat covers could reduce or
prevent the effectiveness of the sys -
tem.
僅 To prevent unexpected deployment
of the side air bag that may result in
personal injury, avoid impact to the
side impact sensor when the vehicle is
in ON position and within approxi -
mately 3 minutes after the vehicle is in
OFF position.
僅 If the seat or seat cover is damaged,
have the system serviced by a profes -
sional workshop.
Kia recommends to visit an authorised
Kia dealer/service partner.
僅 Do not place any objects over the air
bag or between the air bag and your -
self. Also, do not attach any objects
around the area the air bag inflates
such as the door, side door glass,
front and rear pillar.
僅 Do not place any objects between the
door and the seat. They may become
dangerous projectiles if the side air
bag inflates.
僅 Do not install any accessories on the
side or near the side air bags.
NOTICE
If equipped with rollover sensor
Also, the air bags inflate instantly in the
event of a rollover (if equipped with a
side air bag or curtain air bag) in order
to help protect the occupants from seri -
ous physical injury.

* The actual air bags in the vehicle may
differ from the illustration.
Curtain air bags are located along both
sides of the roof rails above the front
and rear doors.
They are designed to help protect the
heads of the front seat occupants and
the rear seat occupants in certain side
impact collisions.
The curtain air bags are designed to
deploy during certain side impact colli -
sions, depending on the crash severity.
The curtain air bags are not designed to
deploy in all side impact situations, colli -
sions from the front or rear of the vehi -
cle or in most rollover situations.
WARNING
僅 Failure to follow the instructions men -
tioned can result in injury or death to
the vehicle occupants in an accident.
- Do not hang heavy items on the
coat hooks for safety reasons.
- In order for side and curtain air
bags to provide the best protection,
both front seat occupants and both
outboard rear occupants should sit
in an upright position with the seat
belts properly fastened.
