Shortcut mode

Shortcut mode (when Fn Lock LED indicator is off) is the default mode in Mac. You can press fn and esc together to toggle to Function key mode (when Fn Lock LED indicator is on). Press fn and esc keys together again to toggle back to Shortcut mode.

Brightness change to built-in display Play/Pause
Mission Control Next Track
Launchpad Mute
Keyboard backlight dims, last level is off Volume Down
Keyboard backlight brighens up Volume Up

In either Shortcut mode or Function key mode, one can also press "fn" key with one of top row key simultaneously to perform the secondary function without switching mode.

Keyboard Setup Assistant for Mac

In Mac, the first time you plug in this new keyboard to use, desktop will pop out a "Keyboard Setup Assistant" window, Please follow the on-screen instruction to identify the keyboard before you can use the keyboard correctly.

After initial setup, if you experience any issue with keyboard or couldn't type correctly, please unplug and replug the keyboard, open keyboard icon in System Preferences, click on "Change Keyboard Type" icon to run Keyboard Setup Assistant to re-identify the keyboard.

F4 Launchpad Shortcut Setup for Mac

  1. After the keyboard is plugged into your Mac, all shortcuts in the keyboard should work automatically except F4 Launchpad, which requires a quick setup before working. Please open System Preferences, click to open Keyboard icon, go to Shortcuts tab. Highlight the first line, Launchpad & Dock in the left pane, make sure or click on "Restore Defaults" button to see "none" in the field of "Show Launchpad" line to begin, then check to enable "Show Launchpad". When a blank field shows highlighted, from Macally keyboard, type and hold down 3 keys simultaneously, "control", "shift" and forward slash "/". 3 key symbols are recorded in the line of "Show Launchpad" as shown below, you may try pressing F4 Launchpad shortcut key now.

  2. When setup is done correctly, by pressing F4 Launchpad shortcut key you will get the Launchpad screen as below.
