The following trouble checks will help you correct the most
common problems encountered with your tape deck.
Should any problems persist after you have made these
checks, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
Before proceeding with these trouble checks, verify that:
e The power cord is firmly connected.
eThe amplifier connections are firmly made.
The heads, capstans and pinch rollers are clean.
The amplifier controls and switches are correctly set.
Function Buttons and Tape Transport Problems
Symptom

The function buttons do not work.
The cassette holder is not fully closed.
Close the holder completely.
The cassette is not properly inserted.
Insert the cassette correctly.
You pressed the button immediately
Wait until the Hl indicator stops
after turning on the power.
