How to use DOLBY NR switches

Is it necessary to set the tape type being used?
No. Because the deck has an automatic tape type cetection
system. In recording or playback of TYPE | (normal), TYPE Il
(CrO,) and TYPE IV (metal) cassette tapes, this systen
automatically adjusts the equalization and bias currint to the
optimum setting for the type of cassette used. The turrent
tape selection is indicated by the TAPE TYPE indicaor.
To switch to the recording mode during playback
Keeping <4 or ® pressed, press @. This is useful wie editing
previously recorded material.
The TIMER switch must be set to OFF because...
The TIMER switch makes the system ready for the imer
recording and playback using the optional timer. If t iss not set
to OFF, recording or playback will start automaticaly when the
power is turned on.
What is Dolby NR system?
The Dolby NR (noise reduction) system reduces tap¢ h iss
noise in low level high frequency signals. The systen Roosts
these signals in recording and lowers them in playtuck.
