INTERFACE TO THE TERMINAL DEVICE
OF ERATION
To orerate the USR-310?
1. Plus the 25 ein commector from your terminal or other device
. into the recertacle on the USR-310 baeckranel,
2e Select the arrrorriate half or full duelex setting.
3. Turn on the USR-310 and your terminal or other device.
4, lial the arrrorriate telerhone rmumber and listen for 2
hisgh-ritehed toner then insert the telerhone handset
into the rubber curs on tor of the USkF-310. The "cord®
end of the handset should be on the left a5 sou face
the USR-310 front eanel, (For best resultss insert the
handset into one cur firsty then feull gently in the '
direction of the other cur and insert the other end of
the handset . For removals move the handset sently
toward the end of the modem with the half/full durelex
Switch and remove the handset from one cur firsts then
the other. Removal is made easier if one gently fries
the wall of the rubber cur away from the handset so 3s
to remove any vacuum created by the insertion of the
handset into the curs. These techniaues work hetter
than trying to force the handset into or out of both
curs simultaneously,
5S. The communications link is now established and vou're ready
to send and receive data.
6» To end the sessions remove the handset and hans ur the
telerhone. It is recommended thet the USF-310 be turned off
whenever it is mot in use.
NOTE? The USR-310 has an adiuustable transmit level which
can be used to make the tone sent from the sreaker Louder
or softer. This level has been set at the factory to serve
the widest mumber of arrlicationss howevery if wou =
experience difficulties in reliable communications adjusting
the transmit level' may hele. The adJiustment is accessible
from a hole in the baserlate on the bottom of the case. A
few suidelines may be of helr3
If the modem om the other end of your transmission
link does mot hear your carriery or receives data
imerorerlyy you may want to make your USR-310 transmit
louder,
If the USR-310 is having difficulty receiving data
Prorerly, you will want to make your transmit level
softer. :
