Your Flexabed was custom built by skilled craftsmen in Lafayette, GA using the same principles of quality that we have built our reputation on since 1969. Our beds provide multilevel support in literally thousands of positions for sleeping, watching television, reading or simply relaxing.
  • Page 3 Remove any items attached to the bed for shipping purposes. SIDERAILS First remove the hardware carton that is stapled to the underside of the bed HARDWARE (Fig. 1). The hardware carton contains your hand control, casters and/or leg CARTON pads, leg extensions (if ordered), and bed literature. Next, remove the wooden leg pads that are inserted into each bed leg.
  • Page 4 Install Your Optional Leg Extensions. Leg extensions are available in one inch increments from 2” to 7” which allows you to raise the overall height of the bed. Leg extensions are an op- tional accessory item. If you ordered leg extensions that are 5” or less in length, they will be located inside the hardware carton that is stapled to the underside of the bed.
  • Page 5 We strongly recommend that that you plug your bed into a surge protector to prevent damage to the bed’s electronic components in the event of a power surge in your home’s electrical system. Flexabed’s warranty does not cover damages to the bed as a result of a power surge.
  • Page 6 Install mattress retainer bar (if necessary). If you ordered a foundation with a standard-sized mattress this step is not necessary as the mattress retainer bar is installed at the factory. HOWEVER, if you ordered FIG. 7 a foundation only or a foundation and a low profile mattress, you will need to install the mattress retainer bar before using the bed.

    HAND CONTROL SYNCING (wireless remote only): If your bed is equipped with a wireless remote, the remote is automatically synced to your bed at the factory during the manufacturing process. In the event that you order a new replacement remote or a new control box in the future, you will have to sync the wireless remote to your control box.

    1. Power Supply Connections. PLUG IN TO The first place to check your wiring connections is at the power supply. Your ELECTRICAL OUTLET bed’s power supply is attached to the bed’s platform on the underside of the head section of the bed. The power supply is a small black box that plugs in to your home’s wall receptacle to supply electrical power to the bed.

    2. Control Box Connections. The control box is the “brain” of your Flexabed which allows the hand control to communicate with all of the motors on your bed. If any motor or accessory item on your bed is not working, check all of the ports on the control box to make sure that connections are configured properly.
