CRIMPING/GAGING PROCEDURE

1. Be sure the adapters match and that they are the same size
as the tubing. (1" tubing requires no adapters)
2. Place copper ring over end of tubing.
3. Push pipe onto barbed fitting all the way to shoulder stop.
4. Open the jaws and position the copper crimp ring so it is
centered within the tool jaws.
5. Before squeezing the handles make sure the copper crimp
ring is approx. 1 /8" to 1/4" from end of tubing and stop
shoulder on barbed fitting.
6. Squeeze the handles closed until the handle stops butt.
CRIMP EACH COPPER CRIMP RING ONCE ONLY!
7. Check the crimp with the crimp gage provided. Measure the
crimped ring perpendicular to the seams of the crimp as
shown in Figure 1. A properly crimped ring should pass the
GO side of the gage and not pass the NO-GO gage. If the ring
does not pass the GO gage the tool is probably worn and
needs to be adjusted as instructed in the Adjustment
Procedure.
