1. Installation Procedure
|
/\WARNING
The main circuit breaker set at upper position than the MCCB or ELCB in
the circuit should be turned off before the Handle Extension Shaft is mounted
on the MCCB or ELCB.
(1) Drilling the door panel
i
- The whole drilling size is identical regardless of the handle type.
Make accurate drilling using Fig.1.
(2) Building up the breaker mounting plate
- Build up the breaker mounting plate so that the distance from the outside of the
door to the breaker mounting surface is that indicated in Fig.2.
(3) Mounting the driving unit
- Set the MCCB or ELCB handle to the OFF position. Assemble the driving unit so
that the MCCB or ELCB handle engages the handle arm. (Fig.2)
|
- Secure the driving unit and MCCB or ELCB together to the mounting plate by
tightening the attached four mounting screws. (Fig.3)
(4) Mounting the handle unit
- Put the handle unit, cover holder, packing, and retainer in front of and behind
the door panel and tighten the screws temporarily as shown in Fig.4. Adjust the
position of the handle unit so that it does not tilt against the breaker. (Fig.5)
«+ Put the handle of the handle unit at OFF position and close the door.
|
Check that the shaft engages the latch when the door closes. (Fig.2)
Make confirmation and correction of the different position as follows:
® Checking the ON-OFF operation
Set the handle in the ON and OFF position to make sure that MCCB or ELCB is
turned on and off. If it fails, slide the handle unit vertically and horizontally on
the door panel to make the shaft engage the latch. In the optimum handle unit
position, when the handle at ON position, the handle is automatically returned
to the ON position even if the handle unit is shaken horizontally. (Fig.6)
(2) The door cannot be closed completely after the handle is mounted.
This is due to the distance (105) between the door surface and the MCCB or
ELCB mounting surface being less than the reference distance.
So, adjust the MCCB or ELCB mounting position until the reference distance
is reached.
(3) After the door is closed, the door cannot be locked.
This is due to the distance (105) between the door surface and the MCCB or
ELCB mounting surface being larger than the reference distance.
So, adjust the MCCB or ELCB mounting position until the reference distance
is reached. After making sure that the door can be locked, tighten the screws to
secure the handle unit.

2. Door Open and Close
|
- ~ Z\CAUTION
- Because handle lock lever can not hold whole door's weight, specific parts
are needed to hold the door.
|
|
m
- Open the door after unlocking the handle lock lever (turn the handle to the
open position). If the door is opened when the handle is locked, the handle
lock lever will be damaged.
(1) Door close
@® Turn off MCCB or ELCB.
(2) Place the handle in the OFF position and close the door.
(3) Tighten the screws to secure the door.
(2) Door open
@) Loosen the door tightening screws.
(2) Place the handle in the OPEN position.
(3) Open the door.
2. Operation method
~ 7\WARNING
|
Don't touch to the live parts in the panel when the panel door is opened by
release screw when the operation handle is in ON position.
(1) MCCB and ELCB operation with the door closed
- When the handle is almost turned to the vertical position, either MCCB or ELCB
is turned on. (Fig.7)
- When the handle is almost turned to the horizontal position, either MCCB or
ELCB is turned off. (Fig.8)
- If MCCB or ELCB are automatically interrupted, the handle almost indicates
TRIP. (Fig.9)
- If the handle is turned in the direction of RESET, MCCB or ELCB is reset.
(Fig.10)
(2) Door lock and release
- While MCCB or ELCB is on, off, or tripped, the door is locked and you cannot
open it.
- The door is released by turning the handle to OPEN. (Fig.10)
- To open the door while MCCB or ELCB is on, turn the release screw clockwise to
unlock the door. (Fig.11)
