Viewsonic System Recovery DVD/HDD Partition
Your computer supports system recovery to allow you to restore the system to ts default
factory settngs.
You can run the Recovery DVD, or recover the system from the hard dsk partton, f you:
1. Have a system or hardware falure.
2. Need to restore the system to factory settngs.
3. Have forgotten the system password.
4-1 Running the Recovery DVD
You wll need to attach a DVD drve to the computer n order to access the Recovery DVD.
1.
Make sure an external USB DVD drve s attached to the computer.
2.
Start-up your notebook computer and press <del> to enter the BIOS.
3.
Use the arrow keys to go to the Boot menu.
4.
Set the CD/DVD-ROM Drive (make sure the Recovery DVD is inserted) as the first device
n the boot order from the Boot menu (use the up/down arrow keys to select 1st Boot
Devce, and then use the "+" or "-" keys to move the devce up and down the order).
5.
Select Save and Exit Setup from the Exit menu (or press F10) and press Enter to ext
the BIOS and reboot the computer.
6.
Make sure the Recovery DVD s nserted nto the external USB DVD drve.
7.
As the computer boots up press a key when you see the message "Press any key to
boot from CD or DVD".
Clck RECOVERY TO FACTORY DEFAULT (button) when the Recovery System message

appears.
9.
You wll then receve a Final Confirmation warnng to make sure you are aware that all
the parttons and data wll be removed (f you need to back up data/parttons then clck
No to ext and back up any data before runnng the Recovery DVD agan).
10.
If you are sure you want to delete all data and parttons then clck Yes.
11.
The tools wll load and the recovery process wll then begn (note that the keyboard and
mouse wll be temporarly locked durng the recovery process).
12.
When the recovery process s complete the computer wll restart.
13.
Dsconnect the external DVD drve and start up the computer.
14.
You wll then need to nput your country and regon preferences, passwords etc.
15.
A short ntroductory vdeo wll appear before the system personalzes your settngs.
16.
When the system recovery s complete you can then restore any backed up data.
