Presetting the Active Channels in Your Area
Your recorder is capable of receiving VHF channels 2-13,
UHF channels 14-69 and cable TV channels 14-36 (A to
W) and 66-125 (A-5 to A-1 and
W +30 to W +84).
See the cable TV channel chart on page 41.
This recorder is preset at the factory to receive certain
channels.
You can preset new channels or erase inactive channels in
your area so that only the desired channels appear in
sequence when you press CHANNEL
+/—.

Before Presetting
¢Turn on the recorder and TV.
e Make sure that the TV is set to the correct channel
(channel 3 or 4) for the recorder, or set the TV/VIDEO
input selector on the TV to VIDEO.
¢ Set the INPUT SELECT switch to TUNER.

1 Press PRESET.
The channel number will blink.
2 Select a channel number with
CHANNEL +/-— for the
desired channel to be tuned in.
3 Press NEXT.
The band indicator and the channel scanning indicator
will blink.
4 Tune in the desired channel.
Press CHANNEL + to tune in a higher-numbered
channel, or — to tune in a lower-numbered channel.

If the first channel appearing on the screen is not the one
you wish, repeat pressing CHANNEL + or — until the
desired channel appears.
5 Press NEXT.
The current time will reappear.
Repeat steps 1 to 5 for other channels to be preset.

is activated.
Appears when PRESET

Indicates the approximate
location of the channel
scanned in the band.
To Erase an Unused Channel
1 Select the channel to be erased with CHANNEL
+ or
2 Press PRESET.
The channel number will blink.
3 Press CLEAR/RESET.
The current time will appear.
Now the erased channel will be skipped when CHANNEL
+/-
is pressed.
