Thank you for purchasing a Lava Fires gas grate, manufactured to the highest standards and tested in the Republic of South Africa. This appliance is designed to give users years of trouble free & efficient service. Please read the following instructions carefully.
IMPORTANT: Read these instructions for use carefully so as to familiarise yourself with the appliance before connecting it to its gas container. Keep these instructions for future reference! WARNING! This appliance shall not be installed in enclosed bedrooms and bathrooms. WARNING! This is a flue-less gas fired heater.

Upon completion of the installation, you are required to fully explain and demonstrate to the user, the operational details and safety practices applicable to the appliance and installation thereof. The appliance has been specifically designed for use with LPG and may not be used with Town’s gas or Natural Gas. Read the instructions carefully before commencing with the installation.
In the event of burn-back, where the flame burns back to the jet, immediately turn off the gas supply at the control valve on the front panel. After ensuring the flame is extinguished re-light the appliance. Should burn-back occur again, close the control valve and call for a service technician to examine the appliance and do not use until the technician declare it safe to do so.
WARNING! The appliance comes complete with a single ventilation grill (250x100mm) that must be installed approx. 100mm below the gas grate in the center of the grate (SEE FIGURE 3) in order to provide fresh oxygen intake. The grill can be installed on either side of the gas grate.
It is not advised to stack pebbles on top of each other. You are now ready to light the LAVA Fires gas grate for the first time and carry out the final step in setting up the gas grate for use.
8. LIGHTING THE GAS GRATE MANUALLY In the event of the Piezo ignitor not working properly, ignite the appliance with a lighter or matches. In such cases, follow the Specific instructions below to light the appliance manually. Check that the gas supply to the Gas Grate is opened/turned-on. ...

14. MANUFACTURER’S WARANTY This appliance is manufactured by Lava Fires SA (Pty) Ltd. The grate body carries a standard 5-year warranty against heat damage as well as 5 years on the gas control unit against any malfunction.
