The solar panel will charge the batteries; you should be able to leave it operate for long periods of time. Make sure to disconnect the batteries from the Speed-Mac VP units when NOTE taking down the work zone (see step 1).
3.1 Setting Up in the Work Zone For your Speed-Mac VP units to operate accurately the whole duration of the work zone, you need to follow this procedure: 1. Set-up the Speed-Mac 2.0 unit on its panel, according to chapter 2.

Long-Term Storage and Battery Safety Information 4.3 Battery Recharging Process The Speed-Mac VP has an internal battery and an on-board charger. If you want to recharge the battery, perform one of the following while the unit is OFF: Connect the unit on the solar vertical panel (VP), put it outside with the panel facing south. The unit will self-recharge within a few days.
GPS: global positioning by satellite. RH: relative humidity. Speed-Mac VP: Includes the Speed-Mac 2.0 and the exclusive vertical barricade with integrated solar panel. Speed-Mac 2.0: The head and its yellow base only, for customers who wish to install it on a different system.
