CDM-625 -5V Rework and Assembly Instructions
These rework/assembly instructions are intended for PL/12587 chassis assemblies -1, -2 and -3. The rework and
assembly required will include the Base Card (PL/11963-1 through -4), the CnC Card (PL/12875-1) and a new
Adapter Card (PL-002094x) along with the power harness that matches each "-" assembly power supply.

Standard AC Chassis (PL/12587-1) – Artesyn P.S.
Qty 1, LB-0020518, Label C-0023329, placed on front panel to indicate upgrade completed.
Qty 2, LB/9107, Label Warranty Seals.
Qty 1, CN/HED02MSR01, 2 pin single row right angle connector. Solder on CnC board.
Qty 1, PL-0020942, -5V adapter board and cable for Artesyn P.S.
DC Chassis (PL/12587-2) – N2 Power P.S.
Qty 1, LB-0020518, Label C-0023329, placed on front panel to indicate upgrade completed.
Qty 2, LB/9107, Label Warranty Seals.
Qty 1, CN/HED02MSR01, 2 pin single row right angle connector. Solder on CnC board.
Qty 1, PL-0020943, -5V adapter board and cable for DC N2 Power P.S.

  • Page 2 1. First turn OFF power and unplug the power cord. Remove the top cover by unscrewing (20) machine screws with a #1 Philips screwdriver and locate the areas of interest. Save these screws for re- assembling the unit.  Verify the CnC module is installed, if not STOP! This rework only applies to units with CnC.
  • Page 3 3. Correctly identify U94 before cutting. This can be tricky! Cut the output pin of U94 (Bottom Card) and ensure connection between output pin and PCB pad is open. A flashlight might be useful to locate U94. Picture shown without top card for clarity Note: U94 may or may not have heat sink installed.
  • Page 4 5. Power down the unit, remove the power harness and apply RTV to U94 between the output pin and PCB pad to ensure electrical isolation. 6. Remove the (2) screws holding the CnC module. Solder 2pin right angle header connector (CN/HED02MSR01) on CnC board (PL/12875-1) J1 pins 35-36 &...
  • Page 5 7. Install the new adapter board harness and the (2) screws near C813 (Top Card) and J26 (Bottom Card). Ensure the slot in the new adapter board is placed around J20 header. 8. Connect -5V harness to CnC card 2-pin header. 9.
  • Page 6 10. Replace the cover and re-install the (20) screws from step 1. 11. Place a CO# (C-0023329) label (LB-0020518) on the chassis to later identify the change has been made. Place new warranty labels (LB/9107) on the cover (this is not shown).
