Insertion of Batteries
The electronic system of your Pentax
PC35AF operates on two 1 SV mini batteries.
(Alkaline battery AAA)
(Caution: NiCd batteries can not be used.)
1. Open the battery chamber cover located at
the base of the camera by sliding it in the
direction of the arrow; use fingernail in the
groove to push the cover.
2. Fit two batteries into the chamber as
indicated—they should be fitted as shown.
Note the + and - markings provided.
3. Close the cover by pushing it back.
The lens protector may be opened by pushing
protector release in the direction of the arrow.
To close, push protector back, locking same in
its original position.
• With the protector closed, a safety device
prevents accidental firing of the shutter;
similarly, the flash pop-up release is also
locked at the same time.
• While holding the camera, even a slight
pushing-back of the lens protector would
activate the built-in safety device, locking the
shutter button. This is to avoid possible
vignetting.
