    A unique optical flow algorithm is used to determine the relative timing between the video and laser data. The viewer in GeoSLAM Hub can be used to view the video data alongside the point cloud data from the ZEB Revo RT or ZEB Go.

    DATA CAPTURE This chapter describes how to mount the ZEB Cam to a ZEB Revo RT or ZEB Go and how to operate the ZEB Cam during Revo RT/Go data capture. MOUNTING THE ZEB CAM If the ZEB Cam is not already mounted to the system, mount the camera to the bottom face of the ZEB Revo RT or ZEB Go body as shown below.

    The GitUp G3 Duo is delivered with configuration settings required for use in the ZEB Cam pre-set. If for any reason the camera settings are changed, the settings listed in Table 3 must be reset to the values shown for the ZEB Cam video data to process correctly.
  • Page 9: Capturing Data With The Zeb Cam

    Ensure the camera battery is adequately charged (see 6.1 Charging the battery). Connect the ZEB Revo or ZEB Go to the ZEB port on the data logger and connect the ZEB Cam cable to the AUX port on the datalogger. Turn on the data logger. Once booted, the LED on the ZEB Revo OR ZEB Go should pulse red twice per second to indicate that the ZEB Cam has been detected and the system is in standby mode.

    Connect the ZEB Revo or ZEB Go to the RT data processing unit as normal and connect the ZEB Cam cable to the USB socket on the RT data processing unit. Turn on the RT data processing unit and initiate the scan in the same way described in the ZEB Revo RT and ZEB Go RT User Guides.

    DATA PROCESSING It is necessary to process the raw data collected by the ZEB Go and/or ZEB Revo RT using GeoSLAM’s 3D SLAM algorithm to generate a homogenous 3D point cloud of the environment that has been mapped. This is done using the GeoSLAM Hub processing software.
