    Capable of coupling the NTB-500A/C units by using the coupling connectors. If coupled, wire-saving layout can be obtained since the coupled NTB-500A/C units require DC power, USB-CAN converter, termination resistor, and communication cable each. Use the DIN rail (optional accessory) or coupling plate (optional accessory, model: CN-10A or CN-11A) for coupling.

For connecting the lead wire with a NDIS connector at the tip such as the strain gage transducer, use the connection cable (receptacle with lead wire, option: N-97, N-70, U-25, U-26) for connection.

For connecting the lead wire with no connector at the tip of the lead wire such as strain gage, etc., peel off the tip of the lead wire about 9 to 10 mm in advance for connection. For connecting the lead wire with an NDIS connector at the tip such as the strain gage transducer, use the connection cable (receptacle with lead wire, option: N-97, N-70, U-25, U-26) for connection.

If the NTB-500A/C is installed vertically or is propped against wall etc., temperature gradient occurs and it may cause measurement error. ● Use shielded and twisted pair thermocouples.

    NOTE ● Ground the “GND” terminal to prevent the NTB-500A/C from being affected by noise as well as receiving electric shock due to leaks in the electric current. Be sure to ground the “GND” terminal. ● Always use the accessory ground wire for grounding.

    Before connecting the DC power, check the power voltage. The power voltage range of the NTB-500A/C is 11 to 16 VDC. Be sure to keep the voltage range. Use the DC power 20W or more. (Capable of coupling the 4 NTB-500A/C units with 20W.) Supply DC power with the accessory DC power cable (model: P-76).

    Ground (3) If the NTB-500A/C is used at job site where induction motors, electric welder and other devices that generate noise are used, power supply condition may be insufficient due to noise. It is recommended to use Kyowa’s insulation transformer or noise cut transformer.

    5. WITH THE KYOWA’S EDX SERIES With the automated measurement function of the NTB-500A/C, you can record data by using the Kyowa's EDX series CAN card. With the automated program “N5H_SetAuto_xxxx.exe”, you can set the byte order, frame format, and ID of the NTB-500A/C.

    5-2-1 Set the communication speed To communicate the Kyowa's EDX series CAN card, be sure to match the communication speed of the NTB-500A/C to that of the Kyowa's EDX series CAN card. Set the communication speed of the NTB-500A/C by using the optional DIP switch.

    5-2-2 Automated measurement function Set the automated measurement function (ON/OFF) of the NTB-500A/C by using the optional DIP switch. See the following table.     To determine which NTB-500A/C is sending data, set an original Message ID to every NTB-500A/C. Every NTB-500A/C uses maximum 4 Message IDs, starts from the pre-set Message ID, for sending data.
