A flashing green light on the lithium position of the KINGS AKEP-DCDC25A 01 DC charger indicates the charging stage:

- Short green flash means the charger is in Bulk or Absorption stage.
- Long green flash means the charger is in Float stage.

I have a Kings 25A dc to dc charger (with mpp solart) fitted in my boat. My Yamaha H60 outboard produces 16A max and the Kings unit draws 25A. This is running my crank battery flat whenever I try and use it. I have a VictronConnect smart shunt, so I can see this is happening. Is there a way I can reduce the input current to the Kings charger to 10A? Or is there a way to increase the required voltage for the control circuit to allow charging?

The KINGS AKEP-DCDC25A 01 charger does not provide a method to manually reduce the input current to 10A or increase the required voltage for the control circuit. The charger automatically operates based on vehicle and solar input voltages, and there are no settings in the provided information to adjust input current or control voltage thresholds.

The alternator led and battery type led flash when the vehicle is off, there is no change when the vehicle is idling however. Is this correct? (The unit is in the back of my vehicle so I can’t see the led panel when revs are increased so possibly charging only occurs when revs are up?) Thanks for any clarification.

Yes, it is normal. When the DCDC charger is in standby mode (connected but not charging from the alternator or solar), the battery type LED, alternator LED, and solar LED will flash. This indicates the unit is connected but not actively charging, which is expected behavior.

Where do I place the black censer cable on my kings 25 amp dc to dc charger if my battery doesn’t have lugs (kings 100 amp lithium with only Anderson plugs) ?
