High Voltage Check

1. Select an active TV channel and confirm that
horizontal is in sync.
2. Adjust Brightness and Picture using Picture Icon
menu so video just disappears.
3. Confirm B+ 140V is within limit.
4. Using a high voltage meter confirm that the High
Voltage is 30.55kV ± 1.25kV for 25in models and
28.80kV ± 1.25kV for 20in models.

Deflection Circuit Preadjustment

Preparation:
1. Connect a High voltage meter (Capable of handle
50kV) to the CRT anode.
2. Connect the set to AC line and turn it on.
Procedure:
1. Apply a crosshatch pattern.
2. Set Picture Controls to minimum to obtain a black
image.
3. Verify that the High Voltage meter reading is
30.55kV ± 1.25kV for 25in models and 28.80kV ±
1.25kV for 20in models
4. If the upper limit is out of tolerance, immediate
service and correction is required to insure safe
operation and to prevent the possibility of
premature component failure.
Set Picture Controls to normal.
