How to Change The Mandrel ? Before using the riveter, you need to check the information in the rivet nut chart and the thickness of your workpiece to ensure that the riveting range of the rivet nut covers the thickness of your workpiece. Choose the right mandrel for the rivet nut you are using. Note: The M8 mandrel is already installed on the tool, so the small box of M8 is empty.

3. Fully depress the inner hex sleeve and thread the selected mandrel into the tool by hand until it reaches the bottom. The mandrel does not need to be torqued. Release the inner hex sleeve and allow it to fully reengage the hex part of the mandrel. If the mandrel and inner hex sleeve do not initially align, slightly rotate the mandrel until the inner sleeve clicks up and reengages.
Parameters for Recognizing Stroke Gauge 1. Initial State The top of white line should be at 0mm when the handles are closed (Fig 1). Fig1 2. Stroke Check Open the handles, the top of white line is at 6mm( Fig 2), so the working stroke is 6mm, the nut height will be decreased by 6mm after riveting.
Before riveting any rivnut smaller than M8 or 5/6-18, you need to calculate the working/compression stroke by using the chart and formula. Taking the M5 rivet nut working on a 2 mm thick workpiece, for example, the calculation is as follows: The working stroke = 13.1 mm (L) - 1.0 (k) - 8.0 mm (h) - 2.0 mm (e) = 2.1 mm 1.

For smaller rivet nuts, please observe the gauge while closing the handles. Stop applying more power on the handles when the decrease in the distance on the gauge approaches the calculated working stroke. Slightly press the handles within a 1mm working stroke until the rivet nut is secure in the hole. For larger rivet nuts, it is not necessary to observe the working stroke in the gauge during riveting.
Instructions to Adjust The Stroke 1. Proper adjustment of the riveter is good for efficient and easy operation. 2. The adjustment of the riveter will vary, depending on the size and type of rivet nut being used and the hole size. 3.
