Alternately
record
1kHz

12.5kHz
signals from
the
audio signal generator at 5mV
(—46dB) on the tape several
times.
for Normal Tape
Set the Bias and the Equalizer Switches to NORM.
Insert
a normal
tape
(Example:
TDK
AC-511)
into the
cassette compartment.
Then, adjust the potentiometers by
following
the conditions
described
below
and
the same
procedure as for the Chromium Dioxide Tape.

RECORD & PLAYBACK SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT
for Chromium Dioxide Tape
LEFT CHANNEL
. Connect an audio signal generator and an attenuator to the
left channel LINE IN, and a VTVM
to the left channel LINE
OUT as illustrated. Then, insert
a ferrichrome tape (Example:
TDK
AC-221)
into the cassette compartment
and set the
Bias and the Equalizer Switches to CrO2.
. While the recorded signals are being played back, check that
14kHz
signal output is identical
to 1kHz signal output or
the deviation is +1dB on the VT VM.
LINE
IN
If not, adjust the potentiometer
(P107) and re-check the
RECORD
output again after the recording and playback operations for
Audio Signal

the signals.
Generator
Repeat the above adjustment until the specified output is
obtained.
RIGHT CHANNEL
Connect an audio signal generator and an attenuator to the
right channel
LINE
IN, and a VTVM
to the right channel
LINE OUT. Adjust the potentiometer (P207) for the right
channel
by following
the same
procedure
as for the left
channel.
for Ferrichrome Tape
Set the Bias and the Equalizer Switches to FeCr.
Insert a ferrichrome
tape (Example:
SONY
DUAD
C-60)
into
the
cassette
compartment.
Then,
adjust
the
potentiometers by following the conditions described below
and the same procedure as for the Chromium Dioxide Tape.

2. Set the unit in the recording mode with the PAUSE button
down.
Then,
feed
a 1kHz
signal
from
the audio signal
generator at 100mV
(—20dB) to the unit and adjust the left
channel
Input Level Control until the signal output becomes
315mV (—10dB) on the VTVM.
