Never try to disassemble the objective lens of the
telescope.
Optimum optical performance is achievable
only by means of sensitive adjustments made at the
Meade factory, and you will almost certainly not be able to
replace the lens components in their correct orientation for
high resolution performance.
Proper Storage and Transport of the Telescope
When not in use, store the telescope in a cool, dry place. Do
not expose the instrument to excessive heat or moisture.
When transporting the telescope, take care not to bump or drop
the instrument; this type of abuse can damage the optical tube
and/or the objective lens.

In the unlikely event that your Model
102ACHR/500 telescope requires factory servicing or repairs,
write or call the Meade Customer Service Dept, first, before
returning the telescope to the factory, giving full particulars as to
the nature of the problem, as well as your name, address, and
daytime telephone number.
The great majority of servicing
issues can be resolved by telephone, avoiding return of the
telescope to the factory.
