Using your machine
Before use
Remove all securing tapes. Wash inside
the appliance with lukewarm water and a
little bicarbonate of soda {one teaspoonful
to each pint of water).
Do not use soap or detergent as the smell
will linger. Dry thoroughly.
To start the appliance, plug into the wall
socket and switch on at the socket. Ensure
the green indicator (fig. 2a) is illuminated
at the top of the appliance, if not slide the
left hand switch to uncover and illuminate
the green indicator.
Note: The red indicator will also glow
until the correct freezer temperature is
reached.
Operate the fast freeze switch to uncover
the amber indicator (fig. 2a) and set the
fridge thermostat knob at 4. The freezer/
fridge should then be left for a number of
hours before use.
The red indicator will cease to glow when
the freezer has reached the required
temperature, the fridge compartment will
also be ready for use at this stae. The fast
freeze switch can now be turned off by
sliding it over the amber indicator.
The fridge and freezer compartment
temperatures will be affected by location,
room temperature and frequency of door
opening and adjustment of the thermostat
setting may be needed to allow for this.
When operating, the outside front edges of
the freezer may feel warm to the touch.
This is quite normal.
We advise you to run your freezer/fridge
for a day before storing frozen food.
The Fridge Compartment
Temperature control (see fig. 2b).
With the thermostat knob set to 4 the
temperature in the refrigerator will be
suitable for the storage of most fresh foods,
salad vegetables, milk, certain wines and
other drinks.
If a lower temperature is needed (e.g.
during hot weather), turn the thermostat
knob to a higher number or, for less cooling,
a lower number.
The required temperature inside the fridge
compartment is from 0°C to 7°C (32°F to
45°F).
operate continuously and the fridge
compartment cooling plate may not defrost.
Turning the knob to a lower number will
cause automatic defrosting to resume.
