Needle Bar Bearings
Removal of upper needle bar bearing :

1) Remove
H
and lfll
2) Loosen screw
A.
3) Push the ba l l bush ing B upwards and remove reta ini ng collar C. bear in g b ushing O and ball
bushing B.
Nole : Lubricate parts B and C prior to re-assembly.
Removal of lower needle bar bearing :
1) Remove
H
and
lfll
2) Remove needle clamp bOCly as described in
D .
It is not necessary to remove needle bar .
3) Loosen screw E.
4 ) Remove adjusting screw F.
5) Remove ball bushing G and bea ring bush ing H downward.
Nole : Lubricate parts G and H prior to re-assembly.
Adjustments :
Upper Needle Bar Bearing :
1) Loosen sc rew A.
2) Turn hand whee l until needle ba r is in its lowest posi tio n.
3) Press the retai ning co llar C downward so lhat need le ba r oa ll bush ing
B
moves lreely and
without p lay.
4)
Tighten sc rew
A.
lower Needle Bar Bearing :
1) Loosen screw E.
2) Turn hand wheel until needle bar is in its lowest positi on.
3) Turn ad j usti ng screw F as required until the needle bar bal l bush ing G moves freely and without
play.
4) Tighten screw E.
Caution:
Tightening o f screw E may cause lower needle bar bear ing to bind . In such a case , the adjust ing
screw F has to be readjusted .
