cassette over and reinserting it you can use the
other haif. Optionally available General Electric
tape cassettes are shown below.

When
the optional

machines or phonographs.

The patchcord may also be used to record your
favorite selections on another tape recorder.
Plug one adapter into PATCHCORD OUT and
the opposite side into TAPE INPUT jacks on the
other tape recorder.
Be sure to connect
the
proper
impedance
adapter plugs as described in the patchcord

REMOTE SWITCH — RT9546
The optional Remote Switch can be used to
temporarily
stop
Recording
and
Playback,
without resetting the controls on the recorder.

FOOT SWITCH — RT9057
When you need to have your hands free for
writing or any other purpose, the recorder can
be operated with an optional accessory foot
switch. Just plug the cord into the small MIC
jack on the cabinet and use the foot switch to
start and stop the recorder.
CLEANING THE HEADS
lron oxide particles from the magnetic tape will,
in time, build up on the parts that come into
direct contact with the tape. These deposits can
cause
incomplete
erasure
and
a
sort
of
"muffled" sound during playback.
With the cassette
door open
and in PLAY
position;
the parts indicated above can be
cleaned (gently) with a cotton swab moistened
with denatured (not rubbing) alcohol. Always
unplug the power cord while cleaning and allow
(30) minutes drying time. An easier method is
to use the optional RT7230 cleaning cassette.
Be sure
you
use
it sparingly
and
only as
directed.
