® Dry batteries
This unit can be powered by six AA size (SUM-3/R6P or AM-3/LR6) dry celi
batteries. Weakened batteries will result in lower volume or poor tonal quality.
The power indicator lamp will gradually lose its brightness when battery power
weakens, At this time, change batteries or shift to one of the alternate power
sources mentioned below.
Battery replacement
1) Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit and take out used
batteries.
2) Load new batteries taking care that polarity is correct.
s/t is advisable to replace ail six batteries at the same time for longer battery life.
«Standard battery life is approximately 2 hours (SUM-3)/5 hours (AM-3)
PRECAUTIONS |
Incorrectly using batteries can cause them to burst or leak, possibly damaging
the interior of the unit. Note the following precautions:
"Be sure that the positive (+) and negative (~—) poles of each battery are facing
in the proper direction.
"Never mix batteries of different types.
"Never mix old batteries and new ones.
"Never leave dead batteries in battery compartment.
"Remove batteries if you do not plan to use the unit for long periods.
"Replace batteries at least once every 2 years, no matter how much the unit is
used during that period.
"Never try to recharge the batteries supplied with the unit.
"Do not expose the batteries to direct heat, let them become shorted, or try to
take them apart.
"Should a battery leak, clean out the battery compartment of the unit immediately,
taking care to avoid letting the battery fluid come into direct contact with your skin.
® Car battery
With the car battery adaptor (CA-5, optional), DC power is supplied from a car
battery through the cigarette lighter socket.
*Car battery adaptor may not be available in some areas.
