    Calibrating the Sprayer When spraying with a boom, the sprayer must be calibrated to ensure proper spray coverage and to combat over-application or under application. Before calibrating the sprayer, it is important to familiarize yourself with the operating instructions. The calibration process is simplified when broken down into the following three steps: 1.
