ADJUSTMENTS

POSITIVE 0° BEVEL STOP
See Figure 22, page 16.
The saw has a positive 0° bevel stop that has been factory
adjusted to assure 0° angle of the saw blade when making
0° cuts. However, misalignment can occur during shipping.
To check positive 0° bevel stop:
 Remove the battery pack.
 Place the saw in an upside down position on a workbench.
 Move the lower blade guard out of the way so that the
saw blade is exposed.
 Check the squareness of the saw blade to the base of
the saw using a combination square.
To adjust positive 0° bevel stop:
 Remove the battery pack.
 Rotate the bevel lock lever counterclockwise to release.
 Insert a 2.5 mm hex key (not provided) through the screw
hole in the saw base.
 Turn adjustment screw and adjust base until it is square
with the saw blade.
 Securely lock the bevel lock lever.
WARNING:
Attempting a bevel cut without having the bevel
lock lever securely locked in place can result in
serious injury.
ADJUSTING THE BASE
See Figures 23 - 24, page 17.
If the circular saw becomes misaligned, it can become
difficult to perform straight cuts. This saw features a unique
adjustable base that ensures the best alignment possible.
NOTE: If tool has experienced potential damage, please
inspect thoroughly before using.
Using the rafter hook:
 Release the switch trigger and allow the blade to come
to a complete stop.
 Swing the rafter hook out and hang the tool on a suitable,
stable structure when not in use.
To check base alignment:
 Remove the battery pack.
 Set the depth of cut scale to its highest position and bevel
scale to 0°.
 Set the tool on the work surface with the face of the blade
up.
 Fully retract the lower blade guard and temporarily secure
it in place with tape.
 Align a strip of adhesive tape with the two notches on the
base of the saw.
 Align the tips of the blade with the tape. The side of the
blade tips should sit flush with the tape on both the front
and rear of the saw.
 If no adjustment is needed, remove tape. If adjustment
is required, leave tape on and proceed with adjustments
below.
To adjust base alignment:
 Loosen adjustment points 1-5 in descending order (5-1)
using an 8 mm standard wrench and a T20 Torx wrench.
 Correct the existing alignment by aligning the front and
rear blade tips with a strip of adhesive tape.
 Tighten the adjustment points in ascending order (1-5)
using an 8 mm standard wrench and a T20 Torx wrench.
 Repeat if necessary.
 Remove all adhesive tape (base and lower blade guard)
when adjustment is complete.
 Check lower blade guard to ensure that it closes instantly.
WARNING:
To avoid possible serious injury, never use saw
when guard is not operating correctly. Check the
guard for correct operation before each use. The
guard is operating correctly when it moves freely,
and instantly returns to the closed position. If you
drop the saw, check the lower blade guard and
bumper for damage at all depth settings before
reuse.
