RECPRO RV BUNK BED
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
RP-SGL-BNK/RP-BD-BNK
*NOTE* Before you begin assembly and installation, please
ensure enough space at the installation location. The RV Bunk
Bed System measures 71 ⅛" H x 82 ⅜" W x 35 ½" D when
fully installed with beds extended.
*NOTE* The RecPro RV Bunk Bed System MUST be attached
to the studs or supports of your RV wall. Failure to do so may
result in a lower weight capacity, arm brackets detaching from
the wall, and injury.
*If your wall studs/supports are spaced too far apart or are too
thin to attach the bunk arm rails: Use a sheet of thick plywood
or OSB board and fasten it to your RV wall by screwing it in
along the wall studs/supports. You can then fasten the RV
Bunk Bed to the attached plywood or OSB board.
1. Begin by measuring the installation location to ensure there will
be enough space for the RV Bunk Bed. When installed with both
bunks lowered, the RV Bunk Bed measures
71 ⅛" H x 82 ⅜" W x 35 ½" D.
2. Use a stud finder and pencil or marker to find and mark your
wall's studs/wall supports. The RV Bunk Bed System MUST be
attached to the wall studs/supports.*
3. Stand one of the Bunk Bed arm rails flush against the wall with
the base plate flat on the floor. (Fig.1) Make sure the lips of the
arms are facing inwards, as these will hold the mattress frame.
(Fig.2)
4. Ensure the arm rail is level/even, and use a pencil or marker to
mark each screw hole.
5. Beginning with the base plate, use a drill and Philips Head drill bit
to secure the arm rail to the wall using wood or aluminum screws at
least ½" shorter than your wall thickness. If necessary, remove the
arm rail and use a small drill bit to first drill shallow pilot holes for the
screws.
6. Use a tape measure and pencil or marker to measure and mark a
width of 71 ½" from the inner edge of the attached arm rail bracket.
