Evacuating in Case of Fire

 A fire on the machine may result in serious injury or death.
 Inspect the following things and prepare in case of fire.
1) Check if the window can be opened and closed
smoothly before operating the machine so that escape
through the window is possible. If any abnormalities are
found, repair them.
2) Before each shift, check that the emergency escape
chute is not worn and its mounting hardware is not
damaged; if any abnormalities are found, replace
with new genuine Hitachi parts before operating the
machine.
 Before operating the machine for the first time, all new
operaters must practice evacuating with the emergency
escape device at least once.
 If a fire breaks out during operation, evacuate from the
machine in the followig way.
 Stop the engine by pushing the emergency engine stop
switch if there is time.
 Use a fire extinguisher if there is time.
 Evacuate from the machine using the emergency escape
device. (See the chapter "Emergency Escape Device" in
the operator's manual.)
 In case of emergency, if the door or window cannot be
opened, break the front windowpane or rear windowpane
using the emergency evacuation hammer and evacuate
the machine. (Refer to the section "Emergency Exit" in the
operator's manual.)
