NOTE: During the brewing process, the carafe (8) can be removed from the
warming plate (7) for a short period of time ( <30 sec.) to pour coffee because of the
drip stop (11). Do not remove the carafe (8) for longer periods of time (>30 sec.),
as the filter basket (12) can overflow and cause injuries (fig. j).
CAUTION: During operation, the warming plate (7) will start to heat up until the
appliance is switched off manually. Never touch the warming plate (7) during use or
remove accessories when the appliance is plugged in and switched on (fig. k).
CAUTION: Never use the appliance with the lid (1) open (fig. I).
• Once the brewing process has finished the coffee is kept warm using the
warming plate (7) until the appliance is switched off via the 1/0 button (6).
• After use, switch the appliance off by placing the 1/0 button (6) in the 0 position
(fig. m).
• Disconnect the appliance from the mains (fig. n) and allow to cool down
completely.
• Clean the appliance. See CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE section.
• To disassemble, follow the above steps in reverse order.
HINTS AND TIPS
• As a general rule, one scoop of ground coffee equals one cup.
• During operation, it is recommended not to place appliance under kitchen
cabinets, as rising steam can cause damage to wooden cabinetwork.
• Regularly clean the appliance as specified in the CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE section.
• Store unused ground coffee in a cool, dry place. After opening a package
of ground coffee, reseal it tightly and store it in a refrigerator to maintain its
freshness.
CLEANING
Proper maintenance will ensure many years of service from your appliance. Clean
the appliance after every use. The appliance contains no user serviceable parts and
requires little maintenance. Leave any servicing or repairs to qualified personnel.
CAUTION: Disconnect the plug (4) from the wall outlet. Allow all parts of the
appliance to cool down completely.
NOTE: Do not immerse the power cord with plug (4) and appliance into water or
any other liquid. Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool or scouring pads (ill. o).
Dry all parts thoroughly after cleaning, before using or storing the appliance. Ensure
that no water enters the appliance housing.
