FEATURES & FUNCTIONS

1. Vertical 2-Sided Grill Base - The Vertical 2-Sided Grill Base is equipped with two Heating Element Panels that can grill via folded position or while lying open. The Base houses the heating units for both Panels. The Control Panel holds two Preprogrammed Control Dials, along with various options for grilling and sautéing.
   
   Accessories - The Vertical 2-Sided Grill comes with the following accessories.

CONTROL PANEL

The Control Panel houses the "brains" of the Vertical 2-Sided Grill. The Panel features the Control Dials that show temperature and time and it includes the pre-set features that make grilling easy and fast. Adjustments to the cooking times and temperatures are offered manually for flexibility and to ensure perfect grilling results.

The Control Panel has a Control Dial for the left Heating Element Panel and a Control Dial for the right Heating Element Panel. Each Control Dial sets the temperature independently of the other Control Dial. Each Control Dial can set the temperature from 0° to 475°F. Each Heating Element Panel can be set with the Digital Timer using the adjustable + and – Buttons, setting the time from 1 (0.1) minute to 99 (9.99) minutes. (For example: 1.0 setting = 10 minutes)

BEFORE FIRST USE & ASSEMBLY

1. Before using the Vertical 2-Sided Grill for the first time, wipe the exterior of the Base with a damp cloth. Do not clean the interior heating elements or Control Panel. Dry with a soft towel. Wash the accessories in warm, sudsy water and dry thoroughly.
   
2. Open the Heating Element Panels (fig.1) and choose the accessory you will use to grill. Cover the Heating Element Panels with the Grilling Racks.
   
3. If toasting, select the Grilling Racks. (fig 2).
   
4. If making Kebabs, set up the Base (fig 3) and add filled Skewers (fig 4).
   
   
5. If using the Locking Grill Basket, place food inside, close (fig 5) and lock the Basket (fig 6). Place in the Grill Base (fig 7).
   
6. Add prepared food to the Grilling Racks, if using.
   
7. Plug the Vertical 2-Sided Grill into the wall outlet.
   
   
8. Both indicator lights on the Control Panel will illuminate in light green.
9. Select your choice of grilling options that follow.

Grilling Options

1. Grilling with Pre-programmed Grilling Times
2. Grilling with Manually Set Grilling Times & Temperatures

Grilling with Pre-programmed Grilling Times - 9 minutes (0.9)

1. Set the Control Dials to the desired temperature(s).
2. Push the On/Off Button to ON. On each Control Dial, the Digital Timer will flash three times and then set at (0.9) "9 minutes".
3. The indicator lights will both illuminate in light orange to indicate the cooking has begun.
4. The Digital Timers will countdown and flash "0:0" when time is complete. The Heating Element Panels will automatically turn OFF.

NOTE: Adjusting the grilling temperature with the Control Dial and/or the cooking time with the + or – Buttons can be adjusted anytime during the grill process.

NOTE: Pressing the On/Off Button to OFF stops the grilling process. Press the On/Off Button ON to start the Pre-set time.

Grilling with Manually Set Times & Temperatures

1. Set the Control Dials to the desired grilling temperature.
2. Press both ON/OFF Buttons on the Control Panel to ON.
3. Press both + or – Buttons on the Control Panel to the desired cooking times.
4. The indicator lights will illuminate to light orange to indicate grilling has begun.
5. The Digital Timers will countdown and flash "0:0" when time is complete. The Heating Element Panels will automatically turn OFF.

NOTE: Adjusting the grilling temperature with the Control Dial and/or the cooking time with the + or – Buttons can be adjusted anytime during the grill process.

Grilling with Accessories

• Grilling Racks- Toast or grill all your favorite foods, including bread, meat and poultry using these Racks. Always use Racks when the Grill is in Vertical position, or use as open toasting racks for bread or tortillas.
• Locking Grill Basket- The Locking Grill Basket is designed to flex with the size and thickness of foods placed inside. The unique design securely holds foods such as beef steaks, boneless chicken breasts, whole fish, pork chops and other cuts of meat to optimize the grilling space on the foods while the Heating Element Panels sear and grill the meat to perfection.
  Place the Grill Racks over the Heating Element Panels. The Locking Grill Basket is to be used with closed Heating Element Panels only; it should not be used when the Panels are open.
• Grill & Sauté Plates- Perfect for grilling, sautéing, or quick-cooking all your favorite foods, the Grill & Sauté Plates cover the Heating Element Panels and are used only when the Heating Element Panels are open; the Grill & Sauté Plates should not be used when the Panels are closed.
• Kebab Base- To position the Kebab Base for the XL Skewer Set, align the Base inside the Drip Tray in the Open Grill. Insert the filled Skewers carefully into each alignment opening. Place the Open Grill Toasting Racks over each Heating Element Panel.
• XL Skewer Set- Featuring 4 extra-long skewers, this set makes grilling kebabs a super-easy task! Thread meat or vegetables onto each skewer, ensuring that the thickness of the foods are uniform throughout and position the filled skewers into the Kebab Base. These skewers are meant to be used with the Kebab Base exclusively and should be used only when the Heating Element Panels are in the closed position; do not use the Kebab Base and Skewer Set with open Panels.
• Drip Tray - This practical and handy Drip Tray catches all the drips and spills that naturally occur when foods grill. Wash by hand or in the dishwasher, top rack only.

MAINTENANCE

ALWAYS allow the Vertical 2-Sided Grill to cool completely before cleaning.

Unplug the Vertical 2-Sided Grill before cleaning.

After each use, clean and dry the Vertical 2-Sided Grill. Use a damp cloth to clean the Grill Base. DO NOT immerse the Base in water. Use non-abrasive soap only.

After each use, wash the accessories in warm, sudsy water and dry thoroughly. The Drip Tray may be placed in the top rack of the dishwasher or washed by hand with the other accessories.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When operating this electric appliance, basic safety instructions should always be followed. Refer to the following for these instructions.

1. READ ALL SAFETY & USAGE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING VERTICAL 2-SIDED GRILL.
2. EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION: AVOID ELECTRICAL SHOCK. DO NOT immerse cord, plugs or the Vertical 2-Sided Grill Base in water or other liquid.
3. Do not touch the Vertical 2-Sided Grill Base, the open Grills, or other components while the Vertical 2-Sided Grill is operating. Use potholders or tongs to remove food and avoid hot food or liquid spills.
4. Do not add metal plates, trays or other objects in the Vertical 2-Sided Grill, other than the accessories that are intended for use with the Vertical 2-Sided Grill, as they may cause fire and/or short circuit damage.
5. UNPLUG the Vertical 2-Sided Grill from outlet when not in use or before cleaning. Allow the Vertical 2-Sided Grill to cool before cleaning. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
6. Children should never use the Vertical 2-Sided Grill; close supervision is required when appliance is used near children.
7. Operate the Vertical 2-Sided Grill on a level surface well away from any hot gas or electrical burner, heat source, combustible spray cans or pressurized items. The Vertical 2-Sided Grill must be level for optimal performance.
8. Do not operate the Vertical 2-Sided Grill outdoors.
9. Never operate the Vertical 2-Sided Grill with a damaged cord or plug or one that has malfunctioned or been damaged in any way. Immediately contact Customer Service for analysis.
10. DO NOT add unauthorized accessory attachments. Such use may result in electric shock, injury or fire.
11. Use only factory cord supplied; NEVER add extension cords. When done using, press Start/Stop to turn OFF, then remove plug from appliance and outlet.
12. Do not use the Vertical 2-Sided Grill for any use other than intended. Do not use on a stovetop.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY

This Vertical 2-Sided Grill has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electrical shock, the plug is intended to be used by inserting it into the electrical outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit securely into the outlet, turn the plug and re-insert. Do not modify this plug. If the plug does not fit the outlet securely, call a qualified electrician for assistance. DO NOT use this plug with extension cords of any kind.

WARRANTY & SERVICE

This Limited Warranty is for one full year from the date of purchase. It is applicable to the original purchaser only and is not transferable to a third party user. Repair or replacement of defective parts is solely at the seller's discretion. In the event that repair isn't possible, the seller will replace the product/part. If product repair/replacement won't suffice, the seller has the option of refunding the cash value of the product or component returned.

Product defects not covered under the Warranty provisions include normal wear and damage incurred from use or accidental negligence, misuse of instruction specifications or repair by unauthorized parties. The manufacturing company is not liable for any incidental or consequential damages incurred by such circumstances.
