Introduction

This User Guide first covers the steps to connect your OontZ Bluetooth Adapter to your TV or device (Laptop, Computer, Tablet, Mac, iPad, or Music Receiver), with the included Digital Audio Optical Cable or the 3.5mm Audio Cable. Then the steps to connect the OontZ Bluetooth Adapter wirelessly over Bluetooth to one or two of these Supported OontZ Speaker Models:

SUPPORTED OONTZ SPEAKER MODELS

  • OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA
  • OontZ Angle 3XL ULTRA
  • OontZ Angle 3 RainDance
    • To connect and play to two OontZ Speakers both speakers must be the same model.
    • The OontZ Bluetooth Adapter will only work with the Supported OontZ Speaker Models, for the latest list of supported OontZ speakers please visit TheOontZ.com/BT-Adapter

The OontZ Bluetooth Adapter is designed to transmit the audio from your TV or device to the OontZ Speaker(s) with our Low latency Feature. The Low Latency Feature reduces delays that occur in the Bluetooth transmission of the audio which can cause lip sync issues when playing a video on your TV or device and playing the audio wirelessly through one or two OontZ Speakers.

Before Getting Started with your OontZ Bluetooth Adapter please review these important notes:

OontZ Speaker Firmware Version Requirements

Your OontZ Speaker(s) need to be on the current version of Firmware, to work with the OontZ Bluetooth Adapter:

Current Firmware Requirements

  • OontZ Angle 3 ULTRA: Version 2.15 or later (please see instructions on how to check Firmware Version)
  • OontZ Angle 3XL ULTRA: Version 3.3.6 or later (please see instructions on how to check Firmware Version)
  • OontZ Angle RainDance: All versions of Firmware work with the OontZ Bluetooth Adapter

If your OontZ Speaker(s) are on an earlier Firmware version, you will need to update each speaker to the current Firmware version. If you have two OontZ Speakers, they both need to be on the same current version of Firmware.

Volume Control

Some model TVs (and other devices) when connected to the OontZ Bluetooth Adapter are not able to adjust the volume playing through the OontZ Speaker(s) by the TV's remote control or physical buttons on the TV. In this case you will need to use the volume buttons on each speaker to adjust the volume. If your TV allows the volume playing through the OontZ Speakers(s) to be adjusted from the TV's remote control we would recommend that you initially set the volume on each speaker to maximum using the volume buttons on each speaker and use the remote control to adjust volume.
