SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning the appliance.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  • Read this guide, taking special note of the "safety instructions" section.
  • Remove any packaging, protective fi lms or warning sticker that may be on the grill.
  • Wipe the grill with a soft, dry cloth to remove any dust.

Note: The left control knob will set the temperature for the left grill. The right control knob will set the temperature for the right grill.

DRIP TRAY

The drip tray will collect any oil or fat that is generated during cooking.

Be careful when removing the drip try as the tray and contents could be very hot. Gently pull the drip tray to remove it from the grill. Empty and rinse the drip tray before replacing in the grill.

OPERATION

  1. Prepare the food you intented to grill before turning the grill on. Cut the food to a maximum
  2. 5 cm (1 inch) thickness.
  3. Connect the grill to the power outlet.
  4. Add a thin coating of oil or butter while preheating. Do not use low-fat oil as this may cause burning.
  5. Turn the temperature control knob to the desired temperature. The power light will illuminate to indicate the grill is heating.
  6. The light will turn off when the grill reaches the selected temperature. Food can be placed on the grill once preheating is complete.


ALWAYS USE A MEAT THERMOMETER TO ENSURE THAT MEAT, POULTRY AND FISH ARE COOKED THOROUGHLY BEFORE EATING.

Important Temperature Note

The USDA recommends that meats should be cooked to the following internal temperatures to ensure food is cooked thoroughly.

  • Beef / lamb: 145°F
  • Pork: 160°F
  • Poultry: 170 - 180°F
  • Reheating poultry: 165°F

  • Cooking times are suggestions and may vary depending on the thickness of the food and personal preferences.
  • Foods can be grilled at maximum temperature however you may wish to reduce the temperature for certain items.
  • Low temperatures will keep food warm once cooked.

COOKING NOTES

  • Do not place or remove food from the grill with bare hands. The grill and the food could be hot. Always use tongs or another cooking utensil to place, turn or remove food from the grill.
  • Do not place cooking utensils on the grill when in use.
  • Do not place paper, cardboard or plastic on the grill.
  • Cooking time can vary based on the type and amount of food being cooked. In general, the recommended cooking time is between 10 - 15 minutes.
  • Check and turn food regularly to ensure even cooking.
  • When the food is fi nished cooking, ensure the temperature control knobs are turned off and the grill is unplugged.
  • Use caution when grilling fatty meats like sausage, as spattering of fat can occur.
  • Always place food on the grill plate. Never place food directly on the heating element inside the grill.
  • Do NOT cover any part of the grill with metal foil as this will cause the grill to overheat.
  • Do NOT use charcoal or wood with this grill.
  • Do NOT pour liquids such as beer or water onto the grill, as this could cause a fire.
  • Never use the grill without the grill plate or drip tray in place. Always put the grill plate and drip tray on the grill before you plug it in and switch on.
  • Do NOT use the grill if the drip tray is warped in any way.
  • Some counter top and table surfaces, such as Corian-style counter tops, wood and/ or laminates, are not designed to withstand prolonged heat generated from this grill. Place a hot pad or trivet under the grill to prevent possible damage to counter tops.
  • Do NOT attempt to cut food while it is grilling.

CLEANING

Unplug the grill and allow it to cool completely before any cleaning.

The drip tray and grill pans can be removed from the appliance to be cleaned separately. They can be hand washed in hot, soapy water or they can be placed in the top rack of a dishwasher.

Ensure the parts are completely dry before putting the grill back together.

Do not submerge the grill body in water or other liquids. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.
