14. Troubleshooting

No audio signal at the output?
Is the device switched on? The red LED of the Random Voltage Generator should be glim-
ming.
Is the signal chain properly patched at the matrix?
Check the inserted cables at the outputs!
Are the pins [A, C] of the OUTPUT CHANNELS plugged in?
Check that the LEVEL controls of the modules used are at set to 5 minimum
OSC2 does not respond to frequency changes?
Remove the pins from the freq. & shape input on the matrix.
Switch OSC2 sync to off position. Power off and on the machine.
The audio signal is distorted at the output?
The OUTPUT CHANNELS should not be adjusted much higher than 5-6!
The MIDI and CV / Gate Interface * does not produce a pitch change of the OSCs?
In order to control the pitch of the OSCs, the respective pins must be positioned in the patch
panel [I, J, K]. The CH 1 or 2 controls of the INPUT CHANNELS must be adjusted to the
correct voltage to produce a correct 1V / octave spread.
CV ext. at CH1 input amp
As of 2018, the Portabella will be pre-calibrated by default in CH 1 (CV) knob position 10 to
1V / octave.

CH 2 control position 10

The GATE signal * does not trigger the ENVELOPE GENERATOR
Make sure that the connected Gate Interface / Keyboard or DAW provides the minimum
voltage of + 4V.
