approved lighting. This model is designed
strictly for off-road riding use and should
not be used on a street or highway at any
time. In most instances, it is illegal to ride
this model on any public street or high-

Starting a cold engine
WARNING
:
In cold districts, control wires may freeze.
Make sure they move smoothly before start-
ing.
1.
Turn the ignition key to the "ON" and
the engine stop switch to the "RUN".
2. Shift the transmission into the neutral
position.
NOTE:
When
the transm1ss1on
is in
neutral, the
neutral
indicator
light (green)
should be on.
If the
light does not come on, ask a Yamaha
dealer or other qualified mechanic to inspect it.
3. Turn the fuel cock to the
"
ON".
4.
Use the starter
lever (CHOKE)
by refer-
ence to the figure:
