INTRODUCTION

Thanks for buying Snark. We work hard every day to make exceptional tuning products...because you work hard every day and you need products that are dependable and highly accurate. Thanks for your support!

POWER UP

We recommend using a 9-Volt adaptor to power your Snark. However, if you plan to power your Snark with a 9-Volt battery, please use the turn screw on the bottom cover to access the battery compartment and connect battery to the battery clip and reinstall the bottom cover.

If using 9 Volt adaptor, make sure it is a "center negative" 9 Volt adaptor with at least 100mA output and insert into either of the DC 9 Volt jacks at the end of the pedal. If you have a 9 Volt supply connected to one of these jacks, you can use the other jack to power another device.

LET'S GET STARTED

Device OverviewInsert cable from instrument into the IN jack at right side of pedal. Use MUTE output to connect pedal to your amplifier. When you are using the MUTE output jack, every time you step on the foot switch to engage the tuning function, the output from the pedal is silenced.

Pitch Calibration. The tuner automatically is set to A440 pitch reference. If you want to reset it, press the PITCH CAL button on the end of the pedal, and quickly press either the UP or DOWN button to adjust the pitch upward or downward. If you select a pitch other than A440, it will be displayed on the LCD whenever the foot switch is engaged and the pedal is in the tuning mode. If using battery power, unplugging the cable from the input jack will reset the tuner to A440. If using DC supply (or battery power) press "PITCH CAL" to reset to A440.

When tuning function is engaged and cable is inserted into IN jack, you will see a white "waiting" light at the left side of the LCD display. This tells you the tuning function is engaged and you are ready to tune. Turning off the tuning function (by pressing the foot switch again) will cause the waiting light to disappear from the display.

Strike any note and the tuner will display the note played and whether the note is sharp or flat. If flat, one of the red bars on the display will light up. If sharp, one of the yellow bars on the display will light up. If in tune, the green bar will light up. If the green bar is lit and you see a brief flashing of the adjacent red or yellow bar, it means the note is just slightly out of tune. Adjust the tuning on your instrument to dial in a perfect tune.

PEDALBOARD NEIGHBORS

If using the Snark in your sound "chain", please be aware that pedals with high gain or incorporating buffers that are placed adjacent to the Snark can cause the click of the Snark foot switch to become accentuated. So you may wish to consider where you place the

Snark in your chain. Or you may wish to connect the Snark to an A/B box, to the "tuner out" jack of your volume pedal, or to the "stereo out" jack of one of your pedals. Enjoy!
