After the installation, ensure the connection is capable of supporting at
least a force of 50 Newtons (N) downwards.

For safety reason, do not connect the LAN port to any network devices
that might have excessive voltage.
The LAN port of this unit is to be connected only to the devices whose
power feeding meets the requirements for SELV (Safety Extra Low
Voltage) and complies with Limited Power Source according to IEC
60950-1.
Power Supply
Caution for U.S.A. and Canada
The SNC-CS10/CS11 operates on 24V AC or 12V DC.
The SNC-CS10/CS11 automatically detects the power.
Use a Class 2 power supply which is UL Listed (in the U.S.A) or CSA-
certified (in Canada).

The SNC-CS10/CS11 operates on 24V AC or 12V DC.
The SNC-CS10/CS11 automatically detects the power.

Features
This product is a compact boxy network camera of lens changing type
equipped with concentrated features necessary for a monitoring camera.
The camera has the following features:
• A boxy body which is the most appropriate for security use.
• Providing an image of an adequate brightness both indoors and outdoors by
using with the auto-iris lens.
• Adopting 1/4-inch elementary colors filter progressive scan CCD. Providing
high quality images in color reappearance, resolution and sensitivity.
• Corresponding to variable power inputs, and the power cord wiring is easy in
installation.
SNC-CS10: Two power inputs of AC 24V/DC 12V
SNC-CS11: Three power inputs of AC 24V/DC 12V/PoE
• Equipped with a video output terminal and a flange focus adjusting function. It
is easy to adjust the angle of view and the focus.
• Switchable video compressing formats, MPEG4 and JPEG. Enables you to
plan variable monitoring styles.
• Equipped with the function to stay the video bit rate constant. You can
accurately estimate the network occupation band and the memory size of the
recording equipment.
• Audio can be sent and received (SNC-CS11 only).
• Supplied with the low aberration vari-focal lens adopting aspheric lens (SNC-
CS11 only).
Notes on Use
Operating or storage location
Do not shoot an extremely bright object (an illumination, the sun, etc.). Also,
avoid operating or storing the camera in the following locations, as these
can be a cause of a malfunction.
• Extremely hot or cold places (Operating temperature: –10 °C to
+50 °C [14 °F to 122 °F])
• Exposed to direct sunlight for a long time, or close to heating equipment
(e.g., near heaters)
• Close to sources of strong magnetism
• Close to sources of powerful electromagnetic radiation, such as radios or
TV transmitters
• Locations subject to vibration or shock
• Humid or dusty locations
• Locations exposed to rain
Ventilation
To prevent heat buildup, do not block air circulation around the camera.
Transportation
When transporting the camera, repack it as originally packed at the factory
or in materials of equal quality.
Cleaning
• Use a blower to remove dust from the lens or optical filter.
• Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the external surfaces of the camera.
Stubborn stains can be removed using a soft cloth dampened with a
small quantity of detergent solution, then wipe dry.
• Do not use volatile solvents such as alcohol, benzene or thinners as they
may damage the surface finishes.
Note on laser beams
Laser beams may damage a CCD. You are cautioned that the surface of a
CCD should not be exposed to laser beam radiation in an environment where
a laser beam device is used.

from the Web browser.
To open the User's Guide, see "Using the CD-ROM Manuals" below.
Using the CD-ROM Manuals
The supplied CD-ROM disc includes the User's Guides for this unit
(Japanese, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Chinese
versions) in PDF format.
Preparations
The Adobe Reader Version 6.0 or higher must be installed on your
computer in order to use the User's Guide stored in the CD-ROM disc.

A cover page appears automatically in your Web browser.
If it does not appear automatically in the Web browser, double-click on
the index.htm file on the CD-ROM.

Select and click on the manual that you want to read.
This opens the PDF file of the manual.
Clicking an item in the Table of Contents allows you jump to the relevant
page.
Notes
• The files may not be displayed properly, depending on the version of
Adobe Reader. In this case, install the latest version, which you can
download from the URL mentioned in "Preparations" above.
• If you have lost or damaged the CD-ROM, you can purchase
replacement. Contact your Sony service representative.

Ce produit est une caméra réseau sous boîtier compacte à changement
d'objectif et dotée des caractéristiques de compacité nécessaires pour une
caméra de surveillance.
Elle offre les fonctionnalités suivantes:
• Corps sous boîtier particulièrement approprié pour une utilisation dans le
domaine de la sécurité.
• Image de luminosité parfaite, à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur, lors de
l'utilisation avec l'objectif à diaphragme automatique.
• Adoption d'un balayage progressif CCD avec filtre couleur primaire
1/4 de pouce. Images de haute qualité au niveau de la restitution des
couleurs, de la résolution et de la sensibilité.
• Correspondance avec diverses entrées d'alimentation et mise en place

• Dotée d'une borne de sortie vidéo et d'une fonction permettant de régler
la mise au point de l'embase. Le réglage de l'angle de vision et de la mise
au point est facile.
• Formats de compression vidéo commutables, MPEG4 et JPEG. Permet
d'utiliser différents styles de surveillance.
• Dotée d'une fonction permettant de maintenir un débit binaire vidéo
contant. Vous pouvez estimer avec précision la bande d'occupation du
réseau et la capacité de mémoire de l'équipement d'enregistrement.
• Le son peut être reçu et émis (SNC-CS11 uniquement).
• Fournie avec un objectif à focale variable à faible aberration doté d'une
lentille asphérique (SNCCS11 uniquement).
Remarques sur l'utilisation
Lieu d'utilisation ou de rangement
Ne filmez pas d'objets extrêmement lumineux (une source de lumière, le
soleil, etc.).
Évitez aussi d'utiliser ou de ranger la caméra dans les endroits suivants, qui
peuvent causer un dysfonctionnement.
• Endroits très chauds ou froids (température de fonctionnement : –10 °C à
+50 °C [14 °F à 122 °F])
• Endroits longuement exposés aux rayons directs du soleil ou à proximité
d'un appareil de chauffage (radiateurs, par exemple)
• Proximité d'une source de magnétisme puissant
• Endroits proches de sources de rayonnement électromagnétique puissant
(émetteurs de radio ou de télévision, par exemple)
• Endroits soumis à de fortes vibrations ou chocs
• Endroits humides ou poussiéreux
• Endroits exposés à la pluie
Aération
Pour prévenir toute surchauffe interne, n'entravez pas la circulation d'air
autour de la caméra.
Transport
Transportez la caméra dans son emballage d'origine ou dans un emballage
d'égale qualité.
Nettoyage
• Utilisez un pinceau soufflant pour enlever la poussière de l'objectif ou du
filtre optique.
• Utilisez un chiffon doux et sec pour nettoyer l'extérieur de la caméra.
Vous pouvez faire partir les taches persistantes en frottant avec un
chiffon doux imbibé d'une petite quantité de solution détergente, puis en
essuyant.
• N'utilisez pas de solvants volatils tels qu'alcool, benzène ou diluants. Ils
pourraient endommager la finition.
Remarque concernant les faisceaux laser
Les faisceaux laser peuvent endommager un capteur CCD.
N'exposez pas la surface d'un capteur CCD au rayonnement laser dans un
environnement où un appareil à faisceau laser est utilisé.
