Buttons

ON/OFF, MODE, °F/°C

Power On/Off

Press the ON/OFF button to turn on. The current temperature will be displayed when the instrument is ready to use. To turn off, press the ON/OFF button for one second, display shows "OFF" for 3 seconds then the unit turns off.

Changing °F to °C

The temperature conversions can be changed from Fahrenheit to Celsius by pressing the °F/°C button.

To Hold the Current Temperature

From "Normal" mode, press the MODE button once. "HOLD" will appear on the display. To return to normal mode, press the button three more times.

To Recall Highest/Lowest Temperatures

From "Normal" mode, press MODE button twice. "MAX" along with the highest temperature, will appear on the display. Press MODE button once more to recall the lowest temperature, "MIN" will appear on the display. Press once more to return to normal mode. To reset the highest or lowest temperature, press the MODE button for 3 seconds while in MAX or MIN mode. The record is cleared when "----" replaces the temperature reading, after which the unit will show the new highest and lowest temperatures.

Temperature Alarm Feature

The instrument can be programmed to provide a visual alarm (blinking display) once the set temperature is reached. Pressing any button will stop the alarm. *The initial default set alarm temperature is 140°F (60°C), and will default back to this after changing the battery.

To Change the Alarm Temperature Setting

Press and hold the MODE and °F/°C buttons for 3 seconds to place the instrument in the temperature set mode. The alarm icon will appear and the °F or °C icon will blink. To scroll and increase " " the set temperature, press and hold the MODE button. To scroll and decrease " " the set temperature press and hold the °F/°C button. After 2 seconds of scrolling the display will rapidly advance. When the desired temperature is reached release all buttons, wait 8 seconds, the instrument will be in alarm mode once the F/C stops flashing. The last set temperature utilized will then become the default alarm set temperature and will be displayed when the temperature set mode is re-accessed after subsequent power ON/OFF events.*

To Turn Off the Temperature Alarm Feature

Press and hold the MODE and °F/°C buttons for 3 seconds to place the instrument in the temperature set mode, the °F or °C icon will blink. Press the ON/OFF button. The alarm icon will disappear and the instrument will revert back to normal mode after the °F or °C icon stops flashing.

To Replace Battery

When the battery needs replacing: "ERROR" along with a low battery indicator icon will be shown on the display. To save on battery life, there is a 10 minute automatic shut-off feature. To deactivate or re-activate; press and hold the MODE button for 3 seconds while the instrument is in "normal" mode. When deactivated, a icon will appear to the left of the display. To replace the battery, turn the battery door 1/8 turn counter clockwise with a coin to open.
