General Safety Warning
Please make sure that you read and follow these
instructions carefully. Keep these instructions in a
safe place for future reference.
1. INTENDED USE
The NRS Community Bed Side Rails have been
designed to keep the user safe from rolling out of the
bed.
2. SAFETY
Warning: The NRS Community Bed Side Rails are
only designed for use with the NRS Community Beds,
models P78269, P78271, P78283, P78295. They should
not be used on any other make or model of bed.
Warning: A risk assessment must be carried out before
use.
3. UNPACKING
Remove the packaging and check all parts carefully.
Contact your supplier immediately if parts are missing or
damaged and do not try and assemble.
3.1 Contents:
1. Side Rail (right-hand-side) x 1
2. Side Rail (left-hand-side) x 1
3. Plastic Side Rail Clips x 2
4. ASSEMBLY/INSTALLATION
4.1 Fitting and Removing the Side Rails
NRS recommends fi tting the steel 3-bar side
rails before extending the bed.
1. Using the bed hand control, raise the bed to the
maximum height in accordance with the NRS
community bed user instructions.
2. Undo the 2 x locking screws on one side of the bed.

3. Insert the plastic side rail carriages into the side rail
channels, taking care not to snag the wires.
The extending section of the side rail must
always be fi tted at the foot end of the bed.
Make sure the side rail label faces up at the
head end of the bed.
4. While holding the side rail assembly in place, tighten
the locking screws at both ends of the bed.
You must make sure all locking screws are
fully tightened before you proceed to the
next step.
5. Remove the plastic side rail clips (A). Store safely as
these will be needed to remove the side rails.
6. Repeat for the opposite side of the bed.
