INTRODUCTION Thanks for purchasing the WEN Lawn Mower. We know you are excited to put your tool to work, but first, please take a moment to read through the manual. Safe operation of this tool requires that you read and understand this operator’s manual and all the labels affixed to the tool. -

GENERAL SAFETY RULES WARNING! Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Safety is a combination of common sense, staying alert and knowing how your item works. ELECTRICAL INFORMATION (CHARGER) DOUBLE-INSULATED CHARGER The charger’s electrical system is double-insulated where two systems of insulation are provided. This eliminates the need for the usual three-wire grounded power cord. Double-insulated tools do not need to be grounded, nor should a means for grounding be added to the product. All exposed metal parts are isolated from the internal metal components with protecting insulation. -

Never carry the charger by its cord or yank it by the cord battery chemicals. If the battery or charger are damaged, to disconnect it from the receptacle. ASSEMBLY & ADJUSTMENTS Fig. 1 WARNING! Always make sure that the lawn mower is switched OFF and the batteries are removed before performing any maintenance or making any adjustments. INSTALLING THE HANDLE Fully loosen the handle locking knobs (Fig. 1 - 1) on either side of the lawn mower. - Page 12 ASSEMBLY & ADJUSTMENTS WARNING! Always make sure that the lawn mower is switched OFF and the batteries are removed before performing any maintenance or making any adjustments. INSTALLING THE GRASS CATCHER NOTE: Do not install the grass catcher, the side chute, or the mulching plug simultaneously. When one is installed, the other two should not be.
- Page 13 The WEN 40V Lawn Mower is equipped with two slots for batteries. Open the battery housing lid (Fig. 6 - 1) to reveal slots for both batteries. To insert the batteries, slide them into the two slots until they click into place. Make sure the batteries are fully inserted and latched into position.

OPERATION STARTING AND STOPPING THE MOWER NOTE: Before starting the mower, make sure all adjustments have been made and that you have selected whether you will be using the grass catcher, the mulching plug, or the side discharge port (only have one installed at a time during operation). -

MAINTENANCE WARNING! Always make sure that the lawn mower is switched OFF and the batteries are removed before performing any maintenance or making any adjustments. CLEANING THE MOWER Keep all safety devices, air vents, and motor housing free of debris and dirt. Wipe down the equipment with a cloth and/or compressed air. -

STORAGE WARNING! Always make sure that the lawn mower is switched OFF and the batteries are removed before performing any maintenance or making any adjustments. STORING THE MOWER The handle of the mower can fold in on itself to allow for easy storage. Simply loosen the handle locking knobs and collapse it in on itself by squeezing the outside edges of the lower handle. - Page 17 Examine the cordless tool thoroughly for worn, loose or damaged parts. If you need to repair or replace a part, contact WEN customer service at 1-847-429-9263. Clean the unit before storing or transporting. Be sure to secure the unit while transporting.
