Driving Controls

Engine Ignition Switch
The engine ignition switch controls the ignition circuit of the
engine. To start and run the engine, press the switch to "ON."
To stop the engine, press the switch to "OFF.".

Throttle Lever
The throttle lever controls the speed of the engine. Move the
throttle lever forward to increase engine speed. Move the
throttle lever rearward to decrease engine speed.
Choke Lever
The choke lever adjusts the choke setting on the engine for
starting the engine under cold conditions. To engage the
choke, move the choke lever forward. To disengage the
choke, move the choke lever rearward.
Parking Brake
The parking brake locks the unit's transmissions. To engage
the parking brake, rotate the lever forward. To disengage the
parking brake, rotate the lever rearward.
Motion Control Levers
The motion control levers provide steering and speed control
of the machine and should be grasped with the hands at
the location of the foam grips. Move the motion control
levers forward to engage the drive wheels in a forward
direction. Move the motion control levers rearward to drive in
a rearward direction. The speed and direction of the machine
may be controlled by varying the position of each motion
control lever relative to the stationary handlebar.

Spreading and Spraying Controls

Gate Lever
The gate lever controls the valve that opens at the bottom
of the hopper. To open the hopper valve (to allow granular
flow), pull on the gate lever. To close the hopper valve (to
stop granular flow), push the gate lever.
Gate Stop
The gate stop controls the minimum to maximum opening
of the hopper. The gate stop is located on the front of the
hopper. Rotate the knob clockwise or counterclockwise until
desired gate opening is achieved.
Spray Pressure Relief Valve
The spray pressure relief valve controls the spray system
pressure. Screwing in the adjustment knob increases
pressure, as noted on the pressure gauge. Unscrewing the
adjustment knob decreases pressure. For a normal spray rate
of ¼ gallon per thousand square feet, use the spray pressure
relief valve to adjust system pressure to 20psi.
Console Spray Switch
The console spray switch turns the spray pump on and off.
The pump is off when the switch is in the "OFF" position.
The pump runs continuously when the switch is in the "ON"
position.
Foot Platform Spray Switch
The foot platform spray switch turns the spray pump on and
off. To turn on the spray pump, apply pressure to the top of
the switch. This switch is intermittent, and only operates the
ferrismowers.com
