Operating your Breville Stratus Toaster
High lift lever
To remove smaller items, such as muffins, lift
the high lift lever approximately 20mm above
the starting position.
In the unlikely event that bread or crumpets become
jammed, switch the toaster off at the power outlet.
Remove the power plug from the power outlet and
allow the toaster to cool completely before using the
high lift lever to carefully ease the bread out of the
toaster. Take care not to damage the self centring
slots or the elements.
Defrost button
(toasting frozen bread)
To toast frozen bread, place the bread into the
toasting slots, select the desired browning setting,
lower the high lift lever until it locks into position,
then press the Defrost button on the control panel,
this will extend cooking time.
The toaster will revert back to the selected toast
setting after the Defrost (toasting frozen bread)
selection has finished.
Note
NEVER ATTEMPT TO EXTRACT JAMMED TOAST, CRUMPETS OR ENGLISH MUFFINS OR ANY OTHER
ITEM WITH A KNIFE OR ANY OTHER OBJECT, AS CONTACT WITH LIVE ELEMENTS MAY NOT ONLY
DAMAGE THE ELEMENT, BUT CAUSE ELECTROCUTION AND/OR FIRE.

Crumpet button
(toasting crumpets)
This function adjusts the heating elements to
perfectly toast crumpets without over browning the
bottom. To toast crumpets, place crumpets into
toasting slots with the tops facing inward, toward the
middle of the toaster. Select the desired browning
setting, lower the high lift lever until it locks into
position, and press the Crumpet button on the
control panel.
This setting when activated adjusts the heating
elements to produce additional heat to the centre
elements to cook the top of the crumpets faster than
the bottom.
Crumpets must always face inward towards the
middle of the toaster. The toaster will revert
back to the selected toast setting after the
crumpet selection has finished.
Note
Cancel button
(to stop toasting)
The toasting, defrosting and crumpet cycles can
be cancelled at any time by pressing the cancel
button. The toaster will turn off and automatically
raise the toast.

The crumb tray should be cleaned out regularly. Do
not allow breadcrumbs to accumulate in the bottom

cleaning the toaster.
2. To remove crumbs from the toaster, slide
out the crumb tray from under the toaster,
empty and replace the crumb tray before using
the toaster again.
3. To clean any additional crumbs, turn the toaster
upside down over a bin and shake crumbs free.
4. Wipe the outside of the toaster with a slightly
dampened cloth and polish with a soft dry cloth.
DO NOT USE THE TOASTER WITHOUT THE SLIDE OUT CRUMB TRAY IN PLACE.
